Absolutely stunning!

Luxury and first class service and amenities My wife checked out at 11am and was told she had to pay for pool/spa despite being told we had 4hrs as part of the booking. We arrived late at 10pm so I think you need to be flexible in the spa allowance.

Hotel and grounds are stunning. We rented a cottage and when we did our reservation was inclusive of everything. Unfortunately, without notifying us, the hotel changed the cottages, making them separate from the hotel. This was never communicated to us. They went from 5 star, to self-catered with no difference in coat and none of this was communicated until we arrived. So we thought we were arriving to a 5-star hotel, whin in fact it was anything but a 5-star experience. Breakfast included, turned into a hotel store credit to cook your own breakfast and full spa access turned into us being treated like 2nd class citizens being told spa access was no longer included, in addition no no housekeeping. When we communicated our concerns to every staff member encountered, they were never addressed. It was a wholly disappointing experience and the way it was handled was awful. This is not a 5-star property. A 5-star property takes care of its guests.

Incredibly beautiful property and grounds. Delightful interior design in both the main house and the cottages. Extremely clean and well cared for. The property is positively bucolic. Would love to stay here again! Minor detail, but of the two lamps in the cottage, one was missing a bulb and the other bulb was a terribly harsh, bright white bulb. We didn’t/couldn’t use either lamp. Would also be nice to have an instruction manual for how to operate the wall heaters, as we don’t use that style in the US and we couldn’t figure out how to use them.

Amazing Nothing

The food at dinner was extremely disappointing and expensive. We ordered the Mac & Cheese which was £30 and it was literally just boiled pasta with parmesan on top, it looked the part but had no flavour whatsoever which was unexpected especially given the price.

The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. The staff at every stage from walking you to your room, to the spa and checking out were high professionals in all ways. My partner went to a private golf lesson and it was worth the booking! The room was beautiful, the spa is welcoming spacious and well looked after. The gardening team work hard to look after the grounds and helpful when arriving to the property. Thank you to the whole team and hotel staff for a beautiful stay for a birthday/anniversary getaway!! Including a lovely birthday card and mini gesture on arrival from the hotel! Breakfast was fantastic and the chef/staff were attentive and warming especially making fresh eggs and pancakes at the station! Big Thank you to all! Nothing! The only feedback would be that I was told prior about a different bar menu/food options outside the main restaurant but due to winter this is not the same (only for dinner). Not criticising as the dinner meal was five star but it would have been nice to have a bigger bar menu available.

Excellent breakfast. Loved relaxation area even as wheelchair user A bit expensive

Everything specially the staff they are all amazing extremely hospitable with a fantastic smile. Just need to get the heaters to stop cranking noises and some more power in the shower in the bungalows and it would be literally a phenomenal experience.

Beautiful grounds and great food at the restaurants. Cottages were designed nicely and very clean. Staff were wonderful, so kind and helpful! Will definitely be back! Kids can only use the pool between 8-10 am. If daily cleaning is not included in self catered cottages it should be specified when booking. An email notifying guests of when golf tournaments are on and other activities therefore unavailable (shooting) would be helpful.

Staff where very friendly and accommodating. Particularly enjoyed the bespoke whiskey cocktails. Our room upgrade was also appreciated. There was a banging noise from outside our window that kept us up all night. Potentially a loose air-conditioning unit? When we spoke to reception at checkout, making them aware of not only our sleepless night but a potential broken thing outside that would need attention, we were slightly disappointed in being told "sorry about that". Overall, we were left disappointed in our night away- sleepless night away.

beautifully renovated and great spa/dining and a top golf course on property.

Charlie's food was absolutely terrible and NOT worth the money or time. Breakfast is fine but dinner is awful. Save yourself and go somewhere else.

The spa facilities were lovely, clean and very relaxing. I would love to come back for a full spa day. The massage was not the best I’ve had, probably quite inexperienced masseuse but I still enjoyed the overall experience. The surroundings are gorgeous and we were lucky to have beautiful weather so could make the most of the grounds / outdoor seating at breakfast (although there was a conference so we couldn’t sit outside for dinner). The room was comfortable and clean, the shower was great. Overall I enjoyed the stay and it felt like a luxurious experience but not sure it was worth the cost. The fine dining restaurant was being used for a conference so we had dinner at the main restaurant. The concept and menu were great but execution not so much - something was missing from the dishes and fell short compared to the price we paid. If it was cheaper I probably wouldn’t have had such high expectations and it would have been enjoyable. Same with breakfast - could have been better for a true luxury experience but was still pleasant. They included a 12% service charge by default which seemed excessive.

Breakfast was sumptuous. The place is very elegant. The gardens are lovely.
