Beautiful building, comfortable bed and pillows, excellent breakfast Despite booking some months in advance when there were numerous vacancies, we arrived to discover that our room was not in the beautiful Victorian home with equally pretty rooms pictured on the website, but rather in the "Cottage" annex. The room was very plain and, although comfortable, lacked the charm of the main home. The AC was a noisy portable unit which we had to turn off in order to sleep. Fortunately, the overhead fan was quiet, and effective. Breakfast was in the main inn, and was excellent.We were happy to enjoy the grandeur of the place during our meal. I would suggest that guests be informed of the alternate accommodation when they book, so as not to be disappointed upon arrival to find that they are not, in fact, staying in one of the rooms pictured. Staff were lovely, as were the gardens.

Historical needs to be updated, our room was the size of a shoe box, not worth the price you pay, no working plugs, old AC ( can’t fall asleep because of the loud noise it makes) breakfast was ok but continental. They will send you a link to tip the cleaning lady which i found tacky ( pay your workers a fair wage)

Location was good. I'm 76 Hubby 79. They put us in the Ponicle Room 3 flights. We're healthy but still a lot before bed. Baseboards dirty and around sink and toilet dirty. Very loud air conditioner had to turn off and use the fan which click clicked all night ... very little sleep. Breakfast below average. Building looks tired needs some love. We met a couple at breakfast whi were originally booked in the room we got. They declined it. We paid 1st class dollars. Expected better, a lot better.

Lovely converted Victorian mansion. Very nice lounge, outdoor garden for eating, good complimentary breakfast, good shower, quiet. Free parking available on-site for 9 cars, with extra public car park opposite. Kingston town centre only a 10 minute walk away Tea and coffee were downstairs in the lobby, not in our room

Charming quaint good location Air conditioning good in room Breakfast is included, but if you want a hot breakfast you have to pay extra. If you wanted to pay for breakfast in cash, you had to have exact cash -they could not make change Inn - so no elevator - recommend bringing small overnight bag or small suitcase - difficult to carry suitcases up and down multiple flights
