Nid's Bungalows

Nothing Bad location. Unsafe to walk at night, dark dirt road. The Bungalow I stayed in had huge safety concerns. There was a tree smashing into the back of it. You could hear the crushing sound of it. There were also critters inside the walls clawing/eating on the wood structure of the unit. Roaches and lizards in the bathroom. The floors had patches on them and you could see through the floor. I felt like at any moment I was going to fall through the floor.

The owners Nid and Allan are so kind and helpful with all the information you might need about navigating through Koh Samui. The location is also good and the staff are so kind. Nothing

The property is located quite good. Room was clear clean and was cleaned every day. Didn’t use the special amounts of the property. The entrance to the site is under construction and it’s a bit difficult to carry the suitcase in the unpaved Road. Also, don’t expect a luxury resort

If you are economy traveler location and facilities are perfect. I didn't realize what situation I had booked until after I had arrived.

Does get a little loud with the wildlife but wasn’t too much of an issue.

The staff were super friendly and spoke English, we had a parcel delivered there and they came and brought it to our room. They booked us a taxi for our flight on the final day and ensured someone was at reception to collect our room key. Everyday the bed was made and bathroom was cleaned, fresh towels too. Good value for your money and the location was great. 7-11 was a 5 min walk and the main part of the town was only 15. They have their own restaurant sort of area which we didn’t use but looked good. There is also a pool which we didn’t use but was clean and other stayers seemed to enjoy it. Overall I would say it’s great if you’re on a budget. Just a bit of constructive criticism.. The animals were loud and woke us up throughout the night with barking and meowing which wasn’t great. I would say the rooms are outdated with unstable floors and an old tv which we couldn’t get to work unfortunately. A mirror in the bedroom maybe above the dressing table would have been very useful My main point I wanted to say was that the lighting inside the bungalow was very dim. Even with the window and door open. We liked to spend some time in the day relaxing but it felt very dark and depressing.

The staff were lovely, the pool was decent. There was hot water also. The room was damp, dingy and horrible. The floor wasn’t very stable, as we walked over it, it felt like we were falling through it, as it made several noises to indicate so. The air con was unreliable. The room was severely outdated. The bathroom was horrific. The shower basically was on top of the toilet. We woke up to cockroaches and an abundance of dead flies in the bathroom. The noise was another issue. The place has animals of its own but these weren’t even the main issue. We were awoken in the middle of the night to scratching and rustling on our door, it was completely distracting and we couldn’t sleep. Then at 5am the cockerels woke us up again. The dogs barked at us every time we entered the property, which I thought may have woke other stayers up at late hours. The property is located quite far from the center and you need to get a taxi or bolt to take you in, unless you would like to walk. There was also some construction being done near the road to the property which also obstructed some taxis from getting down. Towels had a musty smell, the overall cleanliness was lacking. We are aware we paid a cheap price for this stay but we had stayed in other places for similar and got a far better experience. It was so horrific we had to cut our stay short and we only lasted one night here!

Very clean and great location

Breakfast was fine,location was excellent as someone with mobility issues a lovely scenic walk around the lake to a wonderful shopping centre with some fantastic restaurants then a stroll back the other side of the lake, where you can sit and watch Young Thia family’s teach there little ones to roller blade or try join in with the aerobics by the main square,then walk thro the lively bars on the Main Street straight back to Nids Nothing, great staff beautiful surroundings Nids has some amazing flowers growing all over and cooks the best Panang curry I’ve had on the island,and husband Allan knows the area very well as for someone who doesn’t really do google map thing ,,became very hand

Everything you need is available in one place, breakfast and the bar and renting motorbikes.

Nid & Alan have a lovely stay, friendly, accommodating and helpful.

The owners were so nice, genuinely kind people. The accommodation is exactly as advertised, we booked basic room, it was older but clean and had everything you need. Nice sitting area at the front. Pool was nice. Rented bike from Nids. Really sweet animals around, it had a really nice feel to the place. NA

Staff were so friendly and the room was really good value for money

Alan and Nids are exciting hosts. They can guide you through wishes and needs during your stay. The facility has some years, but has a lot of treess and shadows. Kindness and humanity is the first. Highly appreciated. Th elocation is like 1 km from beach. But Chewang today is noisy and dirty place with tractors on the beach!!!! Mainly during sunset period. Shocking for me. Than Nids bungalows facility is the oasis of the silent and peace. You can find and can get all here. Just ask. Key lock is old fashioned, would be changed soon for cards.

I liked the area inside the complex. A bit scary walking to the hotel at night because it's a bit rural with a few dogs barking behind you but just walk on and ignore the dogs and no problem. Safe once you're in the actaual hotel area. Friendly animals like cats, dogs, ducks and chickens walking around. Quirky chickens in a tree, laying eggs in the tree. Nice pool with a lot of shade from the hot sun. Breakfast was suberb for only 150 baht. Friendly staff treat you like family We were on first name terms from day one The road leading up to the hotel is very dark at night with a few dogs barking. Ignore dogs and keep walking , you'll be fine. Best to get a taxi back at night. The rooster could go on a bit in the morning but so can my wife...

Breakfast was good ,fresh coffee ,fresh fruit ,nice eggs and toast I didn't like having to get a key every time I wanted to play pool with my son.

The property was close to everything but tucked away in a private location. The room was extremely clean and cleaned everyday I was there.....always fresh towels and my bed was made, floor was cleaned daily too. Nid and Alan were incredibly friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure I had an enjoyable stay. Nid's cooked breakfast was delicious and I looked forward to it every morning.... I could book, any day tours, the boat to Koh Phangan and anything else I needed was taken care of by Nid and Alan. There is a laundry service too and my clothes came back perfect. I was able to hire a scooter as well, which was very convenient. I loved the pool and it was so nice to swim in during the evening too.... I highly recommend Nids Bungalows.
