Overall condition and cleanliness of the hotel was superb. The staff were amazing and was extremely helpful upon our arrival. The room was clean and our family felt welcome. It was one the best venue we stayed at through out our trip within Japan. The half board dinner was amazing and was particular surprised by their kids meal option which offers so much variety and potion was generous. The adult meals were prepared meticulously and every dish was both picture and flavor perfect. Slight downside is the location of the hotel being at the hill top; however the hotel offers shuttle from Arima train station or Hankyu bus station upon our arrival. It was a short couple minutes ride to the hotel but definitely would recommend anyone who visit to leverage this service as the walk up-hill would be challenging with luggages. There are no shuttle available to shuttle guest from the hotel towards the main town, guests were required to walk downhill towards the main town which our family enjoyed.

Small unit and onsen tubs

Amazingly beautiful location, especially when it snowed. The slopes to board the boat for the trip there and back are dangerous when it’s wet and slippery. There was no help for we seniors to board the boat. On the return trip there was snow on the ground but special thanks go to the wonderful staff who helped us with our luggage, taking it down the slippery slope and onto the boats.

a variety of food to choose from would be great if the breakfast time can extend a bit or guests can still stay at the dining area after 9am

Embracing the whole Japanese ryokan experience, wearing the yukata, getting out of our comfort zones using the onsen, the food, the beds, it was all great. Pick up from Arima Onsen was seamless. The toilet was a bit smelly as if not totally clean, but otherwise everything was great

We all loved the onsen experience. The facility is relatively clean, and the food was great for both dinner and breakfast. I was a bit hurting on the tatami mats. I just wish it was clearer whether or not the futons were actually tatami or bed-like. Also, maybe the facility could automatically ask patrons if they'll need a shuttle and explain the gruesome hike to the hotel. Other than that, we did have a pleasant and memorable stay.

Hotel facilities should be be renewed and modernized. The hotel is already old and showed in its facilities.. Updates would be needed.. The onsen should be expanded.

The onsen and the meals provided were excellent as expected. Did not expect puffer fish on my salad though. Tasted excellent and no side effects The location was near to the train station and bus stop. But there is a difficult steep slope to push the luggage up to the hotel. The main road to the entrance is twice as long but I suspect it is a quick trip if you take the taxi from the train station.

As expected, the food was delicious, and the service was thoughtful and amazing. I've enjoyed very much the breakfast, dinner, and nighttime noodles was delicious and comforting.

The onsen facilities and water are high quality. The first day dinner was not good but the second day dinner was excellent. The first and second day chefs are different.
