Very good location. Clean, comfortable space to stay in. The room was almost always dark (except when they’re cleaning) so you can get a good sleep any time of the day. Clean toilet and bathroom. Staff were very helpful. Maybe just a wish list, I hope there were power outlets near the tables.

Walls were incredibly thin and could hear every noise from neighboring rooms and common area when trying to sleep.

Great location. Good mattress. Helpful staff. Noisy. Reception area is right outside the first 3 bedrooms and this area is very busy with lots of traffic coming and going. Staff like to socialize in this area too. I would not recommend you stay in these rooms. Overall the hostel is a poor design for keeping sleeping areas quiet. 2nd floor have same problem with a large common area and kitchen with larger dorm rooms right beside. “You will need earplugs here!” Not enough toilets. There is literarily only 1 dedicated male toilet in the whole place.

I love the comfortable bed, and the hangout area is great too, and kitchen, bathroom area kept very clean, this is no smoking area, no durian as well,very beautiful place... and all for cheap price The pillow was too soft and made me sleep through my alarm

Getting "harrased" by persistent massage offer from the people downstairs.

Whenever I'm walking to this hostel, i get harassed by people offering "massage" which funny enough, all of them are men.

It was in the city center and the price is cheap. Rooms are so thin. It’s like I am not allowed to talk at night inside the room. I was on the phone for an emergency and a guy shouted that he was trying to sleep and banged the door so loud. The place is very hard to find.

I stayed there solo for 4 nights. The facility has all the basic needs. Great wifi, fair breakfast, clean facilities and helpfull staff.

One of the best hostels I’ve ever been to. The view from the window was amazing. The communal area was very comfortable. Free breakfast that we could eat 24 hours a day. The place is also walkable to anywhere we need to go.

At the beginning we were only looking for the hostel near the night market within our budget but Homy is really out of our expectation. At the beginning we were a bit lost with what to do in Kota Kinabalu, and the girl at the front office called Cindy recommended us to have a trip to Sandakan, for a river cruise on Kinabatangan River which was listed as UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. During our stay, we extended our booking and Cindy was really helpful, super kind, and really gentle. She made both of us feel like home away from home. I was lucky to have a bed with view of the beach, it was amazing. And the hostel also has a nice living area, where you have unlimited cruchy, toasts for free. The living area is also cozy and nice. I would definitely go back to stay with Homy if I have a chance to revisit KK The checkin area and the dorm area where I was staying were in the same building but different segment. It could be confusing a bit.

Love the staffs, all of them were nice and kind to me throughout my time there. love this place. Near food places, clean, and comfortable. I am able to stay until my flight time even i checked out early. maybe separate plates for muslim and non muslim hehe thats it.

the location is wonderful, very accessible. convenience store and food stall are all available in very short walking distance the view in common area is stunning that you could stay there for a whole day. Would be grateful if there is a clear instruction to reception for checking in because you would accidentally bump into another block. Better to make some signage in the front door of each residence to direct them to the reception floor.
