The Borneo Hotel

I really liked the location of The Borneo Hotel; it was walking distance to the Borneo Cultures Museum, the riverfront, restaurants, a spa, and a laundry shop. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the first floor and it was a good, clean space with strong AC and clean bathroom. The hotel was undergoing renovations when we stayed in April 2026 but we didn't hear any noise and were not bothered by anything; we were out for most of the day.

We were shocked at the quality of the restaurant food. It was so good we did not eat at restaurants downtown. Walking to downtown was not simple as the sidewalks were not good.

Central position, clean room, nice breakfast. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff was nice and also kept our luggage for a day after checkout

Not super happy about a room with no windows but I knew that when I booked it.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was ok, close enough to walk to the center. The breakfast was disappointing, very limited with almost no sources of protein. We struggled to find a quiet room, as all rooms facing the main street were very noisy, as almost everywhere on Borneo. The staff was friendly and helpful, and after changing rooms three times during our 4-night stay, we were able to sleep well on the last night...

The hotel is oke, but nothing more than that. Beds are good and location also. Friendly employees. Too few breakfast options, small bathroom, requirement to pay a deposit, service is at a minimum.

Chicken nuggets for breakfast? Do I need to say more? The staff was trying to be helpful but I'm sure their hands are tied by management decisions and that's not good. Noise! Noise! Noise! This hotel is next to a major highway, loud motorcycles all night long. I had no hot water in my shower during my stay, left one day early because I couldn't take it anymore.

Location, breakfast, and staff If your room has a view of the road, it can get noisy at midnight as there are inconsiderate motorcyclists who often rev their modified two-stroke bikes at midnight.

Very tiny room and tiny bathroom . Consider the room rates and location (near the main road), this hotel needs to improve the breakfast menu and the general appearance to make it more appealing.

Depending on the number of guest, if the occupancy if too low, the buffet will be converted to ala carte, but the food is still good. The water heater takes a while to work. Maybe need to look into it.

Good location, possible to walk into town. Car parking just behind hotel in an attached car park, very easy to find a space. Room clean, a little old and tired but ok. Staff very helpful. We ironically booked for one night and increased to two nights when we were there. Breakfast choice of food was poor

Very friendly staff and modern room. Wifi only worked on the lobby floor and not level 1 where our room was.

Alltogether a good hotel for a reasonable price. Staff is friendly and attentative. Overall very clean. The breakfast was quite limited. Very much bread and potato based with few fruits and proteins.

I liked everything about this hotel. Friendly and professional staffs, simple yet delicious breakfast lineup, cosy and clean room. Overall, this hotel exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely 5 stars for their service. The shower needs about 15 minutes for its hot water function. Not a big problem though.
