The manager. He can speak English. Sorry I forgot his name ? The bed is not foreigner friendly too small for my husband.

A short walk downhill to shops and restaurants, but the hotel itself is kind of isolated from all of that. It's not like walking out of the door and having shops nearby. It's about 200 meters or so to the shopping center along the access road, with no sidewalks, meaning that it's not meant for pedestrians. But there is no other way to reach the restaurants and shops unless you have a vehicle. Also, and this is a minor thing, but annoying: you cannot just walk in to the hotel restaurant unless you book the meal when checking in. There is no walk-in seating. And so we ordered room service the first day. I ordered a waffle. Now, most waffles made in a waffle-maker are circular, and cut into four pieces, pizza style. The waffle delivered was three pieces, missing the fourth. It's impossible to make a waffle that is three pieces. The fourth piece must have been discarded, or eaten by someone else? Wtf? I ordered a waffle, not 3/4 of a waffle!

Everything was perfect, the room, the facilities and the location. The staff was very helpful and polite.

Overall an outstanding hotel in Kunming. Only drawback (but not a surprise) is the location of the hotel a bit far from city center (20mn).

The Delta by Marriott has everything that we look for when traveling as a family: the option to include breakfast, a pool, a very comfortable beds and our room had a spectacular view over the city. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were light and very well decorated. The breakfast had a wide variety of choice of both Chinese and Western dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Some of the bread and pastries were quite dry otherwise everything was perfect.
