HALE Kyoto Toji

The check in time is very late and since there is no one at the hotel, you'll have to wait at the street. The facilities also could be better, they are very limited.

The location was absolutely fantastic, just a nice walk away from Kyoto Station. Far enough that it wasn't crowded but still close to neat things. While no staff was on hand, they were very punctual in replying to messages. The room was very small but well laid out, making it easy to navigate. The shower was one of the best I've ever had in my life. Do be prepared to check your email for your codes. That's key. Figuratively and literally! The beds were very firm. Which I liked, though my spouse did not. It's definitely something for other travelers to be aware of. Also, the air conditioner was very loud, but that was also not necessarily bad as it functioned as something of a white noise machine.

We had issues with our QR code initially however, a cleaner was able to assist us and let us into our room.

Beautiful location a few stpes from a beautiful temple. Bus stop just in front of the hotel. The room size was amazing, we had two big suitcases adn we had plenty space. Clean and comfortable

It's a little far from the station and they don't have early check-in nor they can keep you baggage if you arrive early

The intercom response (which can only be accesses inside through a locked door accessible only with QR) was wholly inadequate. The person could neither speak nor understand English and repeatedly told me to just wait. She hung up when I said I wanted to speak to a manager. So I would hesitate to recommend based on this experience.

Very clean and great amenities and. QR code was very easy to use if you know how to use a phone normally The location wasn’t the greatest and there was no luggage storage or laundry

The hotel was quiet and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The AC was cold and the shower was hot. One of the bigger rooms on our stay throughout Japan. Check in was not as simple as it seemed and there was no staff on site to assist us. Ended up having to make a phone call and then waiting for someone to reset our QR code. The self-service bar was missing items for making cocktails, Location is pretty out of the way and not central to very much.

Clean & simple Air condition did not work. Multiple staff assessed the air conditioner and admitted to it not working however did not put effort to fix

I liked the coffee machine and we receive new coffee pods every day and a bottle of water. the place unmanned you get a Code to get in. no one to talk too, they place us in front room which was very noisy, the windows were not blocked so the morning sun get in very early.

HALE Kyoto Toji is just 10 min walk from Kyoto Station making it an ideal option to explore the city. The room is clean and the services are great. Really suggested

We enjoyed our stay at HALE! It was central, close to transport, and clean. All required facilities were available to us. Would recommend this hotel to others. While the QR code access system is great, we did get locked out of the apartment building and then our room. The staff were prompt at assisting us to rectify the issues. However, is not ideal especially at night in an unfamiliar environment, an alternative key would be a good thing to implement.

Nice big room full of space and nice bathroom First of all , why using a fully automated system (with QRCODE) if this one sent before arrival isn’t working. I found out that another couple had same issue on the same day, ended up waiting 45 min outside without any answer from the Interphone ??? The room the first day was fully cleaned but after the second day, towels and new bottle of water were changed but the bed and vacuum was not made at all ?? I found out the second day also that the bed cover and shower curtain was cover of dried blood ????? I thought at first that it was me but checked and wasn’t. Quite a bit uncomfortable to sleep there the second night On top of that, the noise from outside wasn’t cover at all by the room, so quite annoying to sleep. I do not recommend this place at all.

Location is close from Kyoto station Easy to check in / out Enough space The dryer is dam , so we can't use it.

Exceptional

Easy access to room using QR code, clean and comfortable room, walkable distance to Kyoto train terminal, no-contact checkout, just around the corner from an absolutely delicious ramen restaurant. We had no issues, it was a seamless stay!
