Love it. Super clean, nice size rooms, quiet neighbors. It’s both too close to the train station to take the metro (one stop) and a bit too far to walk to with luggage (okay, it’s not that bad but it felt worse for me cause it was raining). Location is great for transiting to all the Kyoto tourists spots via bus or train. Also through multiple rounds of testing and repeated trials, only one out of the three showers on the second floor has hot water.

A little bit to small but it is acceptable for Japan hotel size and it is located in the town

There’s not much convenience stores around.

Clean and affordable. Comfortable, quiet. 15 minute walk to Kyoto station. Good location. Respectful staff.

Affordable, near to station , 1 night stay is ok not more than that Clean , AC was good even though 2+2 stack bed

Everything! Clean rooms, respectful guests, flexible hosts, excellent kitchen area and place to eat and relax.

For a hostel amazingly clean and more like a hotel with shampoo etc in shared bathrooms and towels provided. Kitchen also well stocked with crockery and cutlery and cooking utensils. Lovely all in all We stayed downstairs and some people above us were just a bit noisy in the night

This is a 10/10 hostel. Every detail has been well thought out from the beautiful room, toilets, showers and wash room to the kitchen dining and communal area. I often like to imagine myself owning a hostel and enjoy thinking about what changes I would make or what ideas I would use in my hostel when visiting one. This hostel seems to have stolen all my ideas and has inspired a few more. Although the self check in system is very simple (and I might do something similar if I were to run a hostel) we didn't see the staff very often. That isn't really a negative it was fine for us but sometimes people might need a little help and I often enjoy meeting the people running a hostel and getting recommendations.

The primary issue here is the advertisement of this on booking as a "hotel." It is not a hotel, it is a hostel, which means everything is like a hostel, including shared restrooms and baths. Admittedly, this is written if one gets to the fine print but one doesn't necessarily do that because it is advertised as a ... hotel. So as a hostel it is probably fine (?) although 120 usd per night is arguably pretty stiff but as a hotel it is not. As an aside it is quite close to the old execution grounds :)

Location, cleanness, kitchen and fridge access, luggage storage Room temperature was too high and there was no thermostat to change it. We had to open the windows

I loved how close it was to the station, literally just a short walk form Gojo station which is a 2min train ride from main Kyoto station. I love that its so peaceful and quiet, away from the crowds and tourist areas. The room we stayed at was so so spacious for a family of 4 and it was so comfortable. The beds were comfortable to sleep in and it was cozy. If there was like a drinks section to purchase or vending machine, that would be nice

It was a perfect place to stay while sightseeing. We rented bikes for a day from just around the corner. We did drive on the second day however there was public transport available. The cooking equipment was in good condition, we did need to give it a good clean before using it though. The showers were exceptional! Clean and powerful. Some of the cooking equipment had mold on so we didn`t use it, but others just needed a clean.

The lobby is super nice. u can cook your meals and eat there. There are lots of tips for travelers. . The location was good. It was 13 minutes away from Kyoto train station by walking. Nothing

Internet/wifi was weak and disconnected often. Laundry detergent was not provided, and the clothes drying machine was not powerful and failed to dry our clothes thoroughly.
