Close to beach Good value

Very friendly and accomodating staff who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The bottle of wine was a nice and refreshing touch in the summer. The room was clean and the outdoor seating pleasant. The location is outstanding. Not only are you a few steps from the beach, but you are at the end of the road bordering woods with a great walking path to other, more remote beaches. Dinner at the restaurant was sublime. Nothing! Well, except that the room was darker than pictured. But we would gladly stay here again and in the same room.

Breakfast was good, room was good. Shower is perfect. Air conditioner and wifi was working great. I did not like the beach - it is not clean at all. Maybe, we used to see much cleaner beaches in Mexico ( because we are from USA). I think it is more question to the city and mayor to clean beaches ( all public beaches) so it will be more attractive to the people. Or maybe even collect some reasonable payment - which will be used to keep this beaches clean and nice. At least once a week maintance.

The location was perfect, a few meters from the beach. The breakfast was good, and the room very clean. We were supposed to have a room with a view on the sea. It was confirmed on my booking. When we arrived, no view at all. And they tried to make us pay for mineral water we had brought with us on our check out. Staff lacked politeness overall.

We had a sea view room and it was just beautiful to look out at the sea, the boats, the trees… the room was sparklingly clean, spacious, very comfortable bed, modern facilities, lovely terrace, no noise from adjoining rooms, great air con, fantastic location, superb breakfast and a lovely efficient manager. Hardly worth mentioning as everything was so good, however, although there was a coffee machine we would have liked a kettle to for our morning cuppa. A very English problem!

The property was very clean and organised and had a perfect location with great onsite parking. The breakfast was basic but was what you needed. The aircon worked very well and the patio area outside our room was great. Very nice bottle of wine on arrival Firstly upon arrival to the hotel we rang the reception to ask about the code for the onsite parking as we hadn’t been told prior to arrival. Parking in Gigaro around the beach itself proves very difficult between the hours of 9-9 due to the popularity of the beach. When we rang the reception we were answered by a member of staff who spoke little english. We tried to communicate with her in the broken french that we knew but instead of trying to solve the issue of giving us a code to get into the car park or us try and speak to her, she rudely shouted at us down the phone and told us that we “had no reservation for you”. We waited outside the hotel until the agreed check in time where we were then met by a lovely house keeping lady who helped us a lot and apologised for the inconvenience. She also helped us to reserve a table at the bar for the following day as there was a rooftop DJ playing. As two young female adults who had paid just as much money as everyone else to be there we were not made welcome at the restaurant/bar at all. The service was slow and we had to grab the attention of waiters/waitresses to order drinks or water when they happily chatted and brought free shots to the tables in front and behind of us. We were really enjoying the vibes of the music however until when we guessed a song right and made a small cheer of excitement we got told to be quiet with a hand wafted in our face. We decided to finish our drinks and leave due to the unkind nature of the establishment. As we left to pay the bill we were escorted out of the venue while all the staff members glared at us. While this venue is clean, a great location and beautiful hotel/ restaurant we believe the people make the place and unfortunately on this occasion a select few staff members did not live up to a basic level of hospitality that you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Amazing location, a two minute walk to the beach and restaurants. The ladies working at Le Refuge were so kind and helpful. Parking was easy. Breakfast could be delivered to your room and enjoyed on the terrace. Would definitely come back again!

Very nice rooms, with a coffee machine and a selection of teas. Breakfast at the restaurant was amazing, and the view was incredible. The staff was very friendly and were happy to give recommendations on what to do locally.

The restaurant for The lodges at Gigaro is outstanding with view, food and service. I had two meals there in less than 24 hours. The location to walk along the beach is ideal. Room was small.
