Great location in a peaceful area. Love the pool and a fantastic host. 10min from Lacanau-Oceana, great as a sanctuary for surfing. Nothing

The breakfast was absolutely amazing and more than we could have asked for. There was a little special every morning (croissants, homemade cake, etc.). We spent most of our time kitesurfing at Lake Moutchic, la Varangue is very close to the lake. We also had the possibility to wash, hang, and dry our wetsuits, gear, and towels. We'll be back!

This is a little piece of heaven. The perfect place to relax after a day of cycling. The owner is super sweet and available. Breakfast is great. Nothing missing: You can even dine on location (next to the pool), as we ordered dinner from a local gastronomy which was conveniently brought to us. Truly unique. Nothing

Beautiful accommodation with a great and friendly host. It looks like you're suddenly in Bali, exactly like the pictures. Breakfast was really good, warm pool and whirlpool and even a gym and parking spot. 15 minute drive to the beach and 10 minutes to the next town.

Staff were incredibly friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The gym is lovely, hot tub wonderful, pool gorgeous.The gardens are beautiful and the whole setting is very romantic. There are several dedicated cycle paths nearby. We visited an excellent climbing gym and there’s also a wake board park, surfing and many other things to do nearby. Breakfasts were a feast every day! Would love to return soon :-)

The hosts have created a piece of paradise, only 45 mins drive from Bordeaux and a short drive from gorgeous Lacanau Lake and the ocean. As soon as you step into La Varangue, you feel the serenity of the place thanks to the water features (pool, fish ponds, jacuzzi) combined with the beautiful vegetation, sounds of nature, and the south-east asian influence. Christine and Bernard make you feel at home right away and their love for this place is contagious. We were there to celebrate my sister's birthday and Christine helped us make it a surprise and we spent a lovely evening under the pool cabana munching on delicious planchas with basque food. We could have easily spent the whole time lounging around the pool because once you're there you don't really want to leave, but we decided to make the most of what the regions has to offer with the lake and ocean nearby and the medoc vineyards. This is set to become my go-to bubble of peace whenever I'm in the Bordeaux region.
