The Macarena Beach Hostel

This hostel is in a great location in the centre of town and 10 minute walk to the nearest beach. The staff, especially the owner Tommy, were super helpful and kind. My room had a portable air conditioner which didn't work very well, I'm not sure how the other rooms were. After here, I stayed in the 17 hostel, which is owned by the same guy, and the air conditioner there was perfect.

Great experience, everyone was extremely friendly and there was always something to do in or around the hostel. The bathrooms never had toilet paper but they were pretty clean as far as hostel bathrooms go

First of all, one of the staff members was friendly and kind. She gave me clear instructions. The room was spacious even though I stayed in a 12-bed mixed room. I got storage space as well as a locker, which was helpful. The location was amazing. You can access a beautiful beach and the city centre on foot within 15 minutes. The hot water wasn’t available throughout my stay. I stayed there for 2 nights and tried 2 different showers, but neither of them worked. The hostel was too loud. I think it’s one of the good parts of hostels, but many guests, maybe over 10 people, played loud music in a common space for 2 nights in a row, which is too much for me. Even at 2 am, some people were chatting there at a normal volume. If you prefer a calm place to stay, I personally don’t recommend it. If you’re a party person, go for it. You will enjoy it. I’m the type of person who likes interacting with other guests in a calm way, so I didn’t join in, but they were friendly. I guess most of them live here.

My stay was really good! The accommodation was super nice and the location is just perfect. It’s a very friendly hostel, and all the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

Great location to bus stop and beaches Nobody was at the front desk and the wifi did not work. The girls in my room were very loud and there was no staff to help keep it quiet. There’s also no locks on the dorm rooms and people easily came and went. Not safe or comfy at all. Manager said he would give me a refund instead of writing a review - 1.5 months later and I never got a partial refund.

The location was great. All the stores, restaurants etc were in walking distance. The hostel also has an outdoor area to hang out which was really nice. The bathrooms were pretty dirty

cute hostel with a little yard inside that includes a sauna, very nice staff, chill atmosphere. the biggest perk is the way it’s situated, in a quiet street but close to center&beaches. i would come again!! sometimes cleaniness was not 100% prioritized, but all fine

Wow!! This place is incredible. Felt right at home here and so warmly welcomed by staff and the owner Tommy. Beds with curtains, clean showers, towels provided if needed! Also, a pool table, jacuzzi and sauna in the common area. Great place to socialise and make friends. There is an oven in the kitchen! A major bonus for any avid traveller who can relate to the pure joy of having the use of an oven in a hostel XD hellooooo pizza heaven lol. The location is amazing! Had the best time exploring Lagos from this conveniently situated hostel. Big shout out to the team here :D you legends! I am taking so many fun memories with me! Hope to visit again some time :D How short my vacation was haha will be back another time
