Split Rock Resort

If you are looking to star in your own horror movie this is the place for you! This place looks and feels completely deserted. Everything about the place is falsely advertised. There is literally nothing on the property. It was an extremely awful experience I wouldn’t wish on my worse enemy. To begin the rooms were disgusting. I got the two bedroom for space and because it had a full kitchen. The “air conditioning” was held together by duct tape and a dream. The kitchen had nothing no cups, pans, silverware nothing we had to literally buy everything it was such a waste. There was no one to speak to or get help from. There is nothing on the “resort”. No restaurant and no water park it clearly has been shut down for a while. The rooms and hallways were disgusting. We stayed on the third floor and the elevator was broken so had to use stairs. No information given at check in about anything. The outdoor pool was creepy and gross so much so not a single person used it. The lake is not close and has no parking. The entire place smelled of mildew and cigarette smoke. To add to the feelings of being unsafe the rooms have windows that go out into the hall and all the blinds are damaged so people walking by can see into your room. I couldn’t sleep due to this. The place and parking lot looks straight out of an post apocalyptic movie. All doors are open so anyone can get in at anytime. The biggest issue is you pay all this money expecting the beautiful resort on the website and pictures

Breakfast needs to be way better. Front desk staff needs to be more attentive. Called front and maintenance for over an hour and no one answered the phone. Maintenance with the jacuzzis and hot tubs need to be better. The jets in the jacuzzi in my room was not working and housekeeping nor front desk ever answered when I called with the issue. Other than that, the stay was ok.

Elevator down and stayed on the 2nd floor. Had to carry all luggage down the steps. Front desk staff was not very helpful. Arcade was very badly maintained. No concern when I advised staff of my unpleasant experience we had to wait 2 days for trash bags and dish soap the room continued to heat up the bar didn’t open the whole week where there

Room was cleaned but very outdated didn’t see any staff and the break was better at Piggy’s restaurant, definitely I recommend!

Staff will not tell you of the deficiencies, even after you reserve your stay online with telephone contact! No balconies I'm aware of!

When I went to the front desk to inquire about all of this - they told me I could purchase items in their market. What??? I will never be back.

It is good to stay with kids and the staffs are very friendly.

No hot water. No ice in the machine. Bad breakfast buffet. No channels on the television. Shower didn't drain. No cups for water. Needed maintenance.

Disappointing

We wanted a quick, fun girls weekend trip. A friend had stayed here before, a few years ago. We had the junior suite with kitchenette. We get to the room and it’s full of spiderwebs and bugs outside the door like it hasn’t been looked at in weeks…and the door is open. The carpet keeps the door from closing, you have to REALLY pull and push it closed. The stove was extremely old and the fridge did not work. There are spiderwebs all in the windows on the inside of the room and the ceilings. Could not call the front desk from the room phone and every number we found online was to a different property. On the 3rd try, we were given what turned out to be a cell number that no one ever answered. We packed our stuff back up and drove to the front desk, asked to be moved to a different room and were told there were no other rooms. They would send maintenance to check the fridge and then replace it if necessary. We asked for the number to the front desk and they gave us the number that sounded like a cell phone and no one answered. Maintenance did come quickly and said they’d get a new fridge. We thought ok, we’re getting somewhere! No. No, we did not. Second fridge came quickly but also was not in the best shape. It BARELY fit in the allotted space and the man broke a piece of the side off trying to fit it in. Also, like the first fridge, THIS ONE DID NOT WORK! And both of them SMELLED! Our leftover spoiled so that was money wasted. We also had to drive up front for toilet paper

El lugar es super tranquilo el personal del lobby muy profesional con muy buen servicio al cliente pero no puede pasar desapercibido el lugar ya que esta viejo y un paco descuidado por su antigüedad muchas areas de juegos cerrada y un olor muy fuerte para los niños en las piscinas

Jacuzzi

Don't walk, RUN away from this "resort". It is falling apart and needs a complete overhaul. Our room was dirty. No one dusts or deep cleans and you can see dust and grime everywhere. No water came out of the faucets when we turned them on. We told the front desk and someone came and did something to turn the water on. When the water did run, it was a disgusting brown. We let it run for 40 min. and it was still gross. We moved to another room that was better but the tv's were not hooked up. I was assured by the front desk that someone would come in 15 minutes, so we literally slept in our clothes waiting for someone to come BUT THEY NEVER CAME. We told the front desk we were checking out in the morning because our experience was so unsatisfactory. Gabriella assured us we would get refunded for the next night. We were told there would be someone at the front desk 24/7 but when we checked out there was no one there and the security guard said all we could do is leave our key passes so we didn't get to actually check out with anyone. We never got refunded, 12 days later, as we were told. Now they are not taking my calls. I have no idea how I am going to get my money back for the extra night. The people are nice but there seems to be some incompetence going on there. The hotel is old, dirty, and there was only a handful of people staying there in the middle of summer so it is clearly not a popular hotel. Many of the restaurants are completely closed inside. Just stay away.

1st off this place has a lot of potential. However, They charge guests way too much to not have renovated this place since it was built. (It was built in the 1940’s) It stinks and smells like a different funk on each floor. It’s creepy as hell. The curtains in our room didn’t close, We didn’t get a trash can in our room until the last day of our trip, and the toilet water is hot and steamy like it came from a jacuzzi. Doesn’t sound healthy for the nether regions and it was uncomfortable. As 2 women staying alone in the room, The curtains NEED to be able to shut. Ridiculous. Like I said, I can see why this place used to be popping back in the day. It’s not anymore though. You have a pretty good chance finding somewhere cheaper, cleaner and nicer.

Dirty, cold showers, old, rundown, musty

NOTHING Facility was absolutely disgusting!!! I would t let my dogs sleep there. The moment we arrived, the place looked like an abandoned ski resort!! When I walked in to check in there was a line of customers waiting to complain!! Sent to a different building and entrance was almost impassable due to overgrown weeds and the floor so written the entrance door wouldn’t close!! Room was nothing like what is pictured on Booking.com.

Staff was Friendly and helpful . Room was clean ,spacious and had everything needed. Outside a little run down . Outside pool area and landscaping is a bit run down and needs attention
