Grand Hotel di Lecce

Helpful and friendly staff, beautiful swimming pool and breakfast area, beautiful old-style building with modern facilities, pet-friendly and good parking options. Close to old town. Nothing to report.

The location was great and the rooms were spacious. This is an old hotel that has seen better days. It shows its age and has not had much maintenance in some time. No English channels on TV. The internet is unusable for large portions of the day, only in the very early morning is it accessible.

My room was amazing! I had a spa and took advantage of that! Breakfast was fantastic as well. Great choices on offer. The room was much bigger than I expected and I appreciated having room to spread out. Nothing

High ceilings, balconies in our rooms. Nice common areas The name of the hotel speaks to the former luxury of the hotel. Unfortunately it’s quite run down property that is well past its prime. The breakfast quality was very poor. Almost everything was cold and felt like it was made yesterday.

As close to train station as possible! Clean, quiet, excellent breakfast included, very helpful staff, terrific value. Close to Old Town, too. Outdoor area seemed a bit neglected. Inside hotel seemed freshly spruced up, though.

Beautiful hotel and conveniently located. Parking was tricky so we paid extra for garage parking. They could have used some warm food options for breakfast. But they had many options. I believe the eggs and sausage should have been warm, but were very cold instead. Beds were extremely firm. We had achy backs the next day.

The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The staff went out of their way to return a cell phone that I found in the piazza to its owner since my Italian was not up to the job! it is not really close to any restaurants or nightlife, but the bus stop is very close and parking on the street was easily available.

We chose this hotel as it seemed to be a short walk from the train station and close to the historic centre of Lecce. It didn't disappoint and, as we anticipated problems finding the centre of Lecce in our rental car, we were able to follow the frequent signs for "statzione" (albeit twisting and turning along the way) and discovered a very convenient large parking area next to the station. Fair to say, the Grand might have an air of faded grandeur about it, but nonetheless it proved a very comfortable overnight, very convenient for all the sights and providing a very fine selection for breakfast the following morning. All in all, very good value and an excellent location with elegant public spaces for seating. The hotel also has a large swimming pool in its garden area which must be very attractive in summer. We found by chance a nearby restaurant, Volo (in Via Paladini), which proved a charming spot for dinner.

The room was spacious and extremely comfortable. The pool and green surrounds very relaxing with bar service. Breakfast was varied and enjoyed either inside or outside.5 minute walk to the old town with its wonderful architecture which came alive in the evening with many restaurants and bars. Fabulous location, old town easily walkable with numerous attractions including piazzas and amphitheatre. There was nothing we didn't like.

Room was spacious The TV was not working , the aircon was not working and we had to spent the night in 30c hot room because the staff said maintenance people will not be back until The next day , he said I will give you a discount tomorrow will leave a note to my colleague .. never happened The location is good but surrounded but it does not feel safe

We don’t like.Staff was not good.They were not clean our room after I told.Even they don’t get us bedsheet. We took for bed sheet the staff said we are coming to give you.We stay 2days.No one clean our room.They were not doing their job properly.

Rooms are clean, spacious, neat, comfy linen, beautiful decor. I had a balcony to view beautiful sunset & sunrise. Jacuzzi bathtub. Staff are so friendly & helpful, and made me a very early breakfast to go. Pool and garden courtyard area is a like haven. Walking distance to train station & old city. Rest of hotel may have been grand once, now tired, faded & lost its lustre… Carpets outside rooms & on landings were very dirty, stained, not vacuumed. Smell in bathroom from drains, which I discovered in other hotels in Lecce as well. No basin drain covers so take care nothing falls in. Don’t choose a street room if you prefer quiet.

The feeling of warmth that that emanated from the building and the staff. I liked it all.
