We had travelled to Leh on a sudden whim! And in the brief planning period The Indus Valley seems to be our best option. One, proximity to the market Two, pictorially very nice Three, good reviews...... so we booked Four, very responsive call back from the hotel for information and suggested support With much trepidation (as some of the previous experiences on Booking.com listings weren't up to the mark) when we reached, we found this to be totally something that you would want to bet your booking on! A very warm welcome - a warm room (they keep the heater on 24/7 in winters) at -8 degrees, and a very clean and well appointed room. We opted for a double room with balcony - and it was just right, if you wanted to feel the crisp freeze after some time in the warm room! As it was peak of winter, there weren't many guests - but that did not even once stop the efficient housekeeping or the kitchen to respond in real quick time. After reading many reviews about slow service and very slow catering on orders - we, even for once, did not have to call back a second time for anything with either guest services sections. The hotel arranged for us a short tour to some of the places of interest - and were very careful in selecting for us what would be ideal for our short-stay - keeping in mind the need for acclimatization. Food was alright - we just had dinner, as we were out mostly in the market and on a day tour. While slightly expensive - it is not outlandish, understanding that in winter the logistics of supply is not easy. Breakfast was sumptuous - no questions asked! Overall, it was a great on the spur decision to pick The Indus Valley - no complaints....only kudos.... Thanks guys for making our stay really really worthwhile! Food was alright - Slightly expensive - though not outlandish.

Locks to room did not work. Some construction noise which continued in afternoon and night. was not given change of rooms on first night, though they had vacant rooms. Next day change meant a lot of inconvenience Noisy and bad locks not working. Food was monotonous but well made. Staff at reception and dining hall very good and cooperative

Memorable trip. Everything about the trip was superb. Mind you we went in second week of March 2023 and 80% leh was shut. The hotel itself had very few bookings coz of off season. Yet the hotel made extra efforts and made us super comfortable. Special mention for Mr Stanzin Sonam and wonder woman Ms Tani who can take care of anything that guests ever needed. We had a family/ deluxe double twin room. Spacious comfortable and a beautiful view. Since very few guests we were offered Ala carte instead of buffet. Delicious and lip smacking breakfast. I highly recommend a stay there. We stayed for 5 nights and 6 days. Maybe since it was off season the skeleton staff at the restaurant had to run around a lot and that at times led to a slight delay in service. But I didn't mind that also as I could see they were trying their best to make us comfortable.

I take this opportunity to thank the TIV team for the hospitality extended to me during my stay. The TIV team lead by Mr. Gaurav ensured that I was comfortable and took care of all my requests with a receptive and welcoming approach. Mr. Gaurav is not a typical "Manager" but a true "Leader" I saw him interacting with all guests and extending his support. The restaurant staff also were exceptional in their hospitality, a special thanks to Carien and Yangchen. Please keep up the great job!. Leh need this kind of top notch hospitality services to invite tourists. Thank you once again. Best Regards, Charles Bruno Internet was a problem, however it is beyond TIVs control.
