The hotel was a nice hotel and unique with its design of interior rooms with balconies. It had a charming Kentucky feel. The issue was the cleaning of the room. We checked in on Thursday and had to extend our stay, upon check in, until Sunday. After the first night, our room was not cleaned and when asked, I was told by the young man at the front desk that we had to request the room to be cleaned. We travel a lot and I have never heard of this. Also, it was not told to us upon check in, nor when we made the reservation. I cleaned the room myself that night. When we went to dinner, I stopped by the front desk and was told by the other person at the front desk that we didn’t have to make a request to have the room cleaned. So we were getting different information from staff working for the same company. They did clean our room while we were out on Saturday; however, they didn’t go a good job. They left the dirty drinking glasses on the table; didn’t provide clean glasses; didn’t vacuum; didn’t straighten the couch; didn’t provide new bottle water, etc., etc. etc. Unfortunately, this left an unfavorable impression. I will say that Margot, at the front desk, was awesome! Very pleasant and tried to be as helpful as possible.

The next morning I spoke to Cheryl, who was shocked there was such a room available to sell with mold, spores and peeling paint throughout the ceiling of the bathroom, so she switched us out to 430. A storm caused a power outage and rebooted the system, I told Cheryl we’ll be back after sight seeing. After 6 hours I went to retrieve the new keys to 430. You would assume they’ll check to see if room 430 was “sellable” after moving all of our bags to room 430, this room was even more disappointing Not only did 430 have mold spores, peeling paint but the sink didn’t drain and the handles were loose. Before we decided to unpack again I went down stairs to tell them we couldn’t sleep in this room either. At this time Cheryl had already left so her co-worker had another associate check out room 507 before we get moved for the third time in 2 days. Thankfully room 507 was much better!! How is it that 408 on north side has mold, spores and peeling paint when the south side 430 has the same exact issues. It seems all of fourth floor has water damage but it’s only on the restrooms. I’m still itching as well as my daughters (14 & 17) and breathing hard from the mold and spores. Thank you Cheryl.

Property was very nice and clean. The room was spacious and was a short drive to multiple activities.

The moment we walked in Cheryl, and the manager, Kathy, were wonderful and attentive to every detail. They made sure we were comfortable with our accommodations and ensured we had a fantastic stay.

The staff and the restaurant were amazing. Our only "gripe" was the pool being out of service. Our bartender Ro made the trip for us. He is the best!

Next, even though it was 5pm our room wasn't ready. Then we found out that the pool was closed indefinately. Did I mention we had 2 toddlers with us who had been talking about swimming in the hotel pool for 2 weeks???? On top of everything, we were treated like second class citizens booking through a 3rd party (expedia) So all the issues were someone else's fault.

Staff checked me in quickly gave me cookies and sent me to my room. Comfy spacious room super comfortable bed extra blanket and pillow in closet was very nice touch. Left hotel for a morning walk and my bed was made when I returned. I have made this my go to in Lexington Kentucky. I can’t wait to stay here again soon. MJ

The hotel overall is very nice. One exception was the unavailability of the pool. We all brought suits and shoes that we didn’t need. Pool availability should be as advertised. If no pool, no problem.
