The resort was under construction which was not mentioned on their site or when I called to request a handicapped bathroom.

We did enjoy the ukulele and lei making classes and the evening music nightly at the bar. It was all fine but I wish I would have known before booking and wish we didn’t pay what we paid for room, taxes, resort fees and parking. I certainly feel like there were other better options on the island for the price point we paid

Our room was beautiful and well maintained, and we received house keeping daily. We can’t want to return and enjoy the newly renovated property!

Time till my flight. Seemed nice pool was nice.

The property is beautiful and we really enjoyed the pools. The proximity to airport is a big plus. Will return again !

Excellent stay! will be back for sure!
-
construction, lack of amenities due to construction, one staff not up to par customer service wise. Seemed angry
-
the front desk attendant was rude and condescending - a poor first impression for a 4-star hotel

Very nice stay!

After asking the receptionist where the parking was she directed us to a lot that was full. Parking is over 10 minute walk in the rain. The security came out personally on a golf cart and wouldn’t let us park in the only section that had parking left although it was marked for valet the valet had gone home and was closed so instead of letting us use one of the open stalls, they told us to park in a lot that was another far walk away in the rain. No common sense or guest courtesy. Even after explaining to the security that we are checking out early they refused to let us park with over 20 open stalls and valet gone for the night, absolutely no one using the stalls. I will never go there again. No signs for direction to find the lobby and construction everywhere. This is the worst hotel service I’ve ever had.

We were checked in but there was an issue with the room. The hotel luckily had a room open that we could move too because changing hotels at that time of night would have been almost impossible. The staff was great through the whole experience though.

The Outrigger is currently going through renovations but it didn't take away from the rest of our experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

1. I made a room reservation through Expedia. I king bed, one double sofa bed, and family style room. I was checked in into a different room in the furthest building from the lobby and parking lot. My spouse on crutch had to assisted walk that far to the room. Consequently, I paid for valet. My room was small with only a King bed. I called the front desk about this. They apologized but said they upgraded me to a room with ocean view. I live in Hawaii. I don’t care about ocean views!!! 2. The hotel offered a roll away bed. I agreed after the hotel staff adamently said I had no other choice. To make things more inconvenient, the hotel dropped off the roll away bed in front of the door. My spouse on crutches had to bring the bed in. 3. Dinner: at the restaurant, we had to wait/beg for a table. The wait was 10-15”. There were many open but were said to be unavailable due to short staff & the tables need to be prepped first. Very dissappointing. Same service at the bar too! 4. Food was awesome, tho!!! These are my main observations. I definitely won’t be back!!

Great property our favorite

Only glitch was at checkin only; one clerk to do it. Got behind a lady that had an issue with an upgrade? Maybe more personel needed. Quite irritating to say the least. 20 minutes of bliss!!

Despite this Hotels price point expect to get nickel and dimed. Staff will tell you one thing and then just not help you. Better beaches just as close to the airport south of the Hotel. Currently 7/2026 most of the hotel is under construction. Parts look 35 years old and falling apart and parts are brand new, The pool area is missing tiles, faux rock is falling apart. Here is what went down: I was informed at check-in that the amenities that hotels.com said were included were not included. Hotels.com eventually gave me a voucher to cover the amenities the hotel staff was pretty curt about it and acted like I was crazy for expecting anything even after I showed them the receipt clearly showing that I had been lied to. I was told we could shower after check out if we wanted to go swim before our flight...they meant we could rinse off at the public outdoor pools. I told them we have 9 hours of flights and they said we could shower. They gave me soup and told me to go outside. Staff told us Hotels.com price did not include about $50 in fees at checkout. We booked this place because it was close to the airport, We had stayed the rest of the trip at Poi'pu further south. It is close-ish, its about 7 mins away,, but no shuttle, The Uber is between $20-$40 which is about the same for anywhere on the east to south east of the Island. There is a great beach South of the airport called Kalapaki, anything over there would be better.

Doing renovations and looking really good. The ocean house was great! Can’t wait for the new pool bar!

The rooms themselves were nice and roomy. Effective air conditioning and small bar fridge where appreciated. There was only one microwave for heating food on the third floor and an ice machine on the first floor. Self-parking was $30 per night, which I thought was fairly expensive considering it's in US dollars. Nice pools and a couple of hot tubs which were quite warm. As per many resorts felt that the food was somewhat overpriced and found it better to either bring food in from outside or reheat meals. There is a small Starbucks style shop in the gift shop as well as drinks and ice creams that can be purchased from here as well.

The bar is nice but the lights are too bright.

There was a lot of construction going on. I didn’t read anything about this when I booked. Had I known I may have chosen a different location. The room didn’t really appear clean. I didn’t have any glassware or any other cups to use other than the ones for coffee. Yes we got two cool take home Outrigger logo water bottles but for the price per night here I expected more. Also the rooms are not cleaned daily which is also a turn off. Like I said if I am paying more than $500 a night there should be daily housekeeping. There was really only one restaurant onsite. The pool grill was boarded up. So when at the pool it’s not convenient or easy to get drinks or food. The location is nice but very far from many of the main attractions of Kaua’i.
