York House

Very good

We had a wonderful time at the York House Hotel. The rooms are very spacious and beautifully decorated. The beds are very comfortable. Our room even had a little patio where we could enjoy the evening with a glass of wine. We loved having breakfast in the beautiful courtyard. The location is very good - you don't need a car. There are busses and trams and many good restaurants to choose from. I would definitely stay here again! There is some construction work going on close by. It's only during the day though so it didn't bother us that much.

Can I just live here?? This is our absolute favorite place to stay in Lisbon! A beautiful room and patio, a great breakfast, attentive staff, and a location quiet enough to be outside the buzz of the city, but convenient to many neighborhoods, including downtown. A perfect Lisbon home base! Really, it couldn’t have been better!

Breakfast was very good. Liked the leisurely time allowed! Room nice, bed comfortable. Air conditioning was effective and much needed the eeek we were there. Not at all the hotel’s fault but the street was surprisingly noisy considering not a main road. Would have been nice to have clearer option of a rear-facing room when booking.

The breakfast was wonderful and the staff excellent. It's also a uniquely attractive property.

I first came here 40 years ago with my dad. The updates are stunning while keeping all of the building’s unique charm. Bed was a tiny bit hard, but that’s really looking for issues.

Good transport links with numerous bus and tram options near the hotel. The room was very comfortable and had a safe, fridge and coffee machine. Breakfast had a good range of vegetarian options. N/A

Beautiful charismatic building in a nice area. I felt safe walking around on my own and there were plenty of good little restaurants within walking distance. A very nice, clean and comfortable room with good air con. I loved the terrace . It was a very nice place to have breakfast or to come back to at the end of the day have a quiet drink and read. The staff were friendly , polite and very helpful. My only issue was that it was difficult to make a good cup of tea. There was only a coffee machine in the room. However, when I asked at reception for a kettle, I was given one – thank you so much, I am glad I asked. But no access to good tea at breakfast. Mostly herbal tea bags and a jug of not very hot water.

the hotel was tired and and dreary, two flights of stairs to reach reception dragging heavy suitcases The photos do not reflect the hotel it was not at all like the images on Booking.com Location, hotel was not like the photos. Impossible to speak to anyone at Booking.com so I emailed however no one answered. I am looking for refund as I was mis-sold this hotel as not like the photos on Booking.com

Please, would you leave the towels for a second use? I agreed to use them again - but every day there were new ones.
