Excellent location for the Lochboisdale ferry and for exploring the islands. The EV charger was a great bonus as many of the chargers were not working in South Uist. Rupert was an amazing host and so so helpful with advice of places to visit and assistance with CalMac when they cancelled our ferry. Nothing.

A true gem. I’ve cycled the world for eight years and have stayed in well over 1000 places around the world. Kudos to Rupert for hitting every note! A warm greeting. A nice chat with him and another guest. He’s an academic birder and an interesting man. He happily accommodated my touring steed, then showed me about his lovely browsing library full of Hebridean history and tales and language and lore. Recommended a book that I read—a very interesting read. His common area is beautiful—stylish and full of views and more local lore. My room was super clean and super comfortable—again, like the common area, stylish and well appointed. Tranquil and quiet. Lovely, top quality furnishings and furniture.. very helpful and friendly host. The ensuite was immaculate, and there was a sitting room with a beautiful view for the use of guests. Unfortunately, I was too tired to use it. Nothing it was just perfect.

Attention to details, a warm welcome, knowledge from the host about the area. A lovely lounge space to sit in. A delicious breakfast! We liked everything!

The location was perfect, the bedroom was excellent, and it was a good shower. I loved the breakfast. The rosemary omelette was divine. Rupert is a fantastic host and so helpful to us. When it was time to leave, he helped us with our final preparations. A big thank you to Rupert ?.

Rupert has done everything to make this small guesthouse into the go-to accommodation option in South Uist. Room is comfortable and good value, and there are so many details where he has gone well beyond the minimum - from the delicious locally sourced breakfast items to the veritable library of local books. The stylish shared guest lounge has a big picture window and looks out across an attractive landscape. And the location is delightfully quiet yet a short stroll from town across a pedestrian causeway. Thank you.

Good sized comfortable room. Appreciated the good quality furnishings especially the towels. Excellent breakfast with good range of dishes. Rupert was friendly and very informative enabling us to make the most of our stay.

A substantial cooked breakfast made a very good start to the day. Rupert the owner also provided helpful information on sights, bus timetables etc. very nice view of Lochboisdale from the guest lounge

Rupert was very helpful and accommodating: letting us leave our bags in the storeroom, providing a packed breakfast as ferry so early, making time to tell us a lot about the area.

Rupert could not have been more helpful- he's the best host I've ever stayed with. When our ferry was cancelled, he contacted us with helpful advice about alternatives. He's a fountain of knowledge about the local area and has a guide book which is a must! The bed was exceptionally comfortable and breakfast was delicious, he even organised gluten free options for me. The room was clean and had everything you need. There is parking on sight and the property is well signposted from the road. Altogether lovely. Cannot recommend highly enough! There's nothing not to like.
