Located at the top of the hill in Lochinver, the views were incresdible. The lodge was quiet, and we were welcomed to play billiards until dinner. Dinner was local, good quality and fresh. Rooms were dated but suited the area and the beds were comfortable. While the lodge was quiet, we struggled to find anyone to check us in or out.

Very comfortable room with luxurious bedding and sitting area with a beautiful view. Gourmet restaurant for dinner and breakfast options! The staff were friendly, kind, and helpful. Their communication prior to arrival was prompt and helpful. It is easily accessible off the main road, however it is way up on a hill, so there is not a peep of cars.

Really enjoyed staying here, it was a perfect location to explore some jaw dropping highlands stops and was super cozy. The staff was EXCEPTIONAL and so friendly and welcoming, had a great chat with all of them. Also kudos to the chef- we are big foodies and were thoroughly impressed with both nights of eating here for dinner. We also had a stunning view of the bay from our room- would take team each evening before dinner relaxing in the chairs. The only area for improvement would be the pillows- unfortunately all four of our pillows had about 25% filling, led to a lot of tossing and turning on otherwise comfortable beds since they were so flat. Would suggest the property upgrade the pillows across the board or offer guests two choices of pillows!

Always a pleasure to stay at this amazing hotel above Lochinver, which I first visited in the late nineties. A wonderful location, great rooms, great staff and lovely meals

All the Staff were excellent as was the quality of food . The entrance to the Hotel was dark - I got the impression this was prior to a facelift , the views once inside were great .

The view from the bedroom was wonderful, staff were excellent and the food was exceptional.

The views are nice but disappointed overall. For almost 400euros/night…I don’t understand how this price is justified. The place feels like it stood still in time. It seemed empty judging from the parking lot and the number of guests we saw during breakfast, yet we couldn’t have a room upstairs. Horrible worn out soft mattress, worst sleep I had during a one week trip in Scotland. Lochinver itself doesnt have much going for it either. The views are nice but disappointed overall. The staff were very helpful and kind. We enjoyed staying in the hotel. Had a lovely dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Would have loved to stay longer but unfortunately we have to leave on our road trip Nothing much to dislike. The location was not near the town centre but 5-10 minutes away by car.

Staff are the outstanding highlight of the hotel. Very impressed. Views from our room, across the Loch, were picture postcard. Spotlessly clean and comfortable room. Exterior would benefit from some ornamental displays or hanging baskets that the deer can’t reach. It wouldn’t take much to make it look less stark and unwelcoming. Interior decor in general is in need of a refresh, but the staff have nothing to do with that, and they won our hearts.

Amazing site, with wonderful views and great potential. Comfy bed but bathroom with shower over deep bath was difficult to use. Sadly this hotel totally lacks atmosphere. My husband described it as grim on the outside and grim on the inside. Very dim reception area, nothing particularly Scottish happening apart from the gorgeous carpet. Not an ounce of Scottish music flowing through the silent hallways. We enjoyed our first dinner of scallop entree and langoustine and salad main albeit from quite a limited menu considering the advertised quality of the hotel. Breakfast buffet was a big let down, not well presented, quite ordinary and we had to keep requesting the staff to replenish the yoghurt, confiture, milk etc which earlier guests had depleted. Eggs were over cooked and not well presented. Background restaurant music sounded as if we were in a funeral parlor. Our over all view was that management needed a big shake up and I felt the potential is there, if only it would liven up. Very disappointing considering the cost and website spiel.
