St Christopher's Inn, Shepherd's Bush - Hostel

Clean and tidy.

The location was really good, close to the bus stop and central tube line, also close to supermarkets and a shopping mall. It was really hot, I stayed in a room for 9 people and there was one floor fan, I believe that if you're going on seasons that have cooler weather this is perfectly fine, but for summer it may be difficult. Also, at least in my room, you could not sit down on the bed, I understand this is a dormitory so usually I fix my stuff while in the bed, but this was not possible due to it being lower than most bunk beds.

Great hostel was clean and tidy as well with good beds

The staff wasn’t really helpful like I had a problem on my bed where the charging parts didn’t work and I went down there twice and no one had done anything about it. The common room with told to be 24 hours when I went there I saw a sign that’s like overtime room is gonna be only open from 7 AM to 1 AM and I was like OK. I was hoping it’ll be 24 hours because I will come home to my hospital. I wanna like microwave food and I’m not allowed to use the microwave or less. I wanna eat something I can’t go to the common room to eat something

The location is convenient and having a restaurant there is great. The bathrooms were conveniently located and the beds were comfortable and pre made nicely. Apart from the bar there wasn't anywhere to relax but I know they're renovating so that will change. And the entrance probably needs clearer signage to check in at the bar though it's not a big deal. The bathrooms need a little TLC--TP was never in holders--maybe someone lost the holder key. But good value and clean. Half the staff were super friendly but one guy was pretty rude and another was ridiculous. When I checked out around 10:30 there was no one else there and a guy was behind the bar so I asked if I could get a glass of water. He said "no, not now" really rudely and just stared at me like I was bothering him. Beyond obnoxious for no reason. I was told you could get water and make yourself coffee in the bar but just ridiculous to not get a glass of water. To check out as if you're an imposition is just bad biz. I used to manage a hostel and never had that level of apathy and rudeness in any of the hundreds I've stayed in or reviewed for work.

You’re getting what you pay for

Location

The beds were not as they appeared in the photos. The photos showed a two-tier bunk bed with storage space underneath. However, I stayed in a three-tier bunk bed. Furthermore, there was no space to store my suitcase. This is because the lockers in the room were very small and inadequate. If this service is not available, you can update the photos. Also, the room was very cramped. I had seen a lot of negative comments about cleanliness. I can't blame the hostel staff for this. They cleaned the entire hostel very well every day. However, the people staying there were so messy that the cleaned hostel became extremely dirty within 1-2 hours.

St. Christopher's is a professionally run hostel, with everything in place for a comfortable stay. The beds are clean and fresh lining, no issues. Bunk beds have privacy curtains. Rooms are not very spacious, but enough space for luggage. Bathrooms and showers are plenty at each level, and kept mostly clean. Cleanliness in a hostel to a great extent also depends on the other people staying. I had no issues, mostly. Check in and checkout is smooth. Yes, there is a bar below, and it can get a little noisy at times, but its not a big issue. However, they do offer good discounts on food and drinks for guests of the hostel. The hostel is very safe, and women shouldn't have any qualms. They have a seperate female shower as well. Location is excellent, being right opposite the Shepards Bush station. Only downer is the locker in the room is a little small. And checkout is at 11 but check-in at 3, which has a bit of stretch. I think, a 1pm check-in should be the norm. Also, no lift in this property, so it's a bit of a lug for people with heavy luggage especially to the second floor. Also, breakfast, which you pay 5 pounds extra was a little sparse at Shepards Bush - Ham Slices, Eggs, Muiseli were missing in the continental breakfast. So that was a bit of a downer!

The room was clean and peaceful. The showers and toilet facilities are clean and there are plenty of toilets and showers in the hostel. The breakfast was good and plenty of food to choose from.

The bedroom and the staff in reception. Also. the fact they have a hairdryer in the bathrooms. Also the location is near every shop and bus stops and tube.

It looks unkept. No kitchen,no hygienic drinking water for visitors.

The Cleanliness and private bathroom for my hall. No lift, they truly need an elevator and a full fridge for the guest. It would be nice if they had a kitchen as well.

Super close to the metro (tube), pretty central location, close to central London. 24/7 reception, linens and bed were comfy-ish if you're on the top one, curtains are a game changer , good for privacy. One of the few hostels that I've stayed without a kitchen not even a fridge! No running / tap water, staff had to fill up a jar daily. Rooms were super hot, 3-bed bunks; thankfully I was on the top - can't imagine what it feels like being on the bottom or mid, you can,t even sit. Smelled musty / moldy Okay for a night's sleep but that's it
