Amazing location - right next to the Royal Albert Hall and the Natural History Museum is 5 minutes down the road. Kensington High Street is just 10 minutes away - so you feel really in the heart of things. Gorgeous decor inside. The bar is particularly special as there's the Rolling Stones connection. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Bed was comfy. We went for the budget room and it really was quite small - so if I were booking again, I'd get an upgrade. The shower wasn't very powerful and ran off hot and cold taps, so it was difficult to gauge the temperature.

Extremely quiet hotel with a plush bed, clean room, and an amazing staff. I find most hotels in London to be either uncomfortable or noisy and this wasn't the case at all. If you're here for the BBC proms, this is the one to pick.

Short walk to Royal Festival Hall No proper beer at bar, plus it appears they have over charged me

Food, drinks, staff, sumptuous furnishings, comfortable bed, location I would be hard pressed to think of anything negative. Our balcony door jammed but a maintenance person came promptly and opened it. Understandable for a Victorian building.

Gorgeous hotel with old world charm, in a beautiful location. The rooms are all unique and the bedding is comfortable. This would have been an A+ if my room wasn’t infested with bugs. Horrible tiny little bugs coming from the bathroom, hundreds of them, all over my toiletries, hair, luggage. I couldn’t clean them all off they were crawling all over me.

The Gore Hotel is well located for the Royal Albert Hall (main purpose of stay) and is beautifully decorated. On a hot day, the iced lemon rooibos tea on arrival was very welcome. The room itself was well-appointed on first impression, and a lot squeezed into a small space. Decorations in general are ornate, with a great sense of history, though could usefully lose the Rolling Stones references dating back to 1968, perhaps. That was a long time ago... The 'cosy' double was very small and it was difficult to squeeze past the end of the bed to get to the other side. Toiletries were provided, but in very minimal quantities. Some hotels present their toiletries in large bottles and this makes them not only easier to use, but more environmentally friendly. The large, carved wooden headboard looked lovely, but was incredibly uncomfortable to sit against. There was a good selection of teabags, but they make a rather weak cup of tea. I was given two in a pot at breakfast and they barely made an impression on the colour of the water. Breakfast was wholly served. Staff were attentive, but I prefer a buffet-style breakfast to pick from. The cooked breakfast was not great, though the eggs were cooked as requested, so that's something. The milk jug was not clean. At supper, we were squashed into the bar as there was an event in the restaurant. The chairs were uncomfortable. The tables were too small to properly eat a meal off. There was no sherry! We had chosen the Gore because friends had booked us in to eat there with them pre-concert. It was my birthday and I was so disappointed to find that due to previously mentioned event, the restaurant was not available. Given the cost, I would not have stayed there had I known beforehand. To add insult to injury, there was an 'extra' charge payable on checkout - I'm still not entirely sure what it was for: 'accommodation service charge' or something. I would expect that to be rolled in with the price of the room and it left a nasty taste. Although the location was very convenient on this particular occasion, I would not stay at the Gore again.

The preservation of its history and charm combined with modern amenities. The room was spacious and the hotel had beautiful areas to sit and relax. We could hear people talking in the next room but it was minimal.

Proximity to Royal Albert Hall. Attention to detail throughout the hotel. Air conditioning in tbe bedroom was greatly appreciated during this heatwave. Nothing.

Hotel in an excellent location for the Royal Albert Hall. Booking evening meal was efficient and served timely to fit in with evening at the Proms. Breakfast was tasty. I was in room 416, whilst the bed was comfortable, I am only 5ft tall and getting into the bed was a bit of an effort as it is very high up. If I had not been fit it could have been a problem.
