Convenient location to shops, restaurants. Little traffic. Good parking. Exceptional breakfasts. Congenial hosts. Cheerful staff. Afternoon treats. Robes. Comfy bed. Super fluffy towels. No place to store bags on 1st floor. I was on a motorcycle and had to unload exposed luggage for safety reasons. Stairs are a bit steep to carry bags.

Bed and Breakfasts, in general, are sometimes a unique taste for travelers, but if you are game for the potential experience you will always want to find a unique property with engaging, good-humored owners who might share a story or two along the way. The Governor's Inn fits the bill well. Logistically, they are a short walk to some great stores and restaurants in Ludlow and a quick 5-minute drive to skiing at Okemo. The house itself and our room were spotless and unique. Breakfast was very good and well-paced and the proprietors, Rosemarie and Holger, were very friendly and helpful with our plans and surroundings, buzzing around like a favorite aunt and uncle. They were always very proactive about making sure our stay was comfortable and happy and keeping us updated on local info on the BIG STORM (late January, 2026) with which our stay happened to coincide. Put this location on your list. Nothing to report.

The style, the attention to details and the host. I liked everything

There are snacks and cookies and drinks available for free 24/7. The breakfast was to die for. Rosie is a fantastic breakfast chef. The house was converted to a B&B and wasn't easily adaptable. Rooms are not large. We stayed in what was described as the smallest of the rooms and small is an understatement. That includes the pretty tiny bathroom. But there was a TV and the hosts' charm, the attention to detail and the quality of breakfast make up for it.
