Hotel Don Luis

We on an over night layover to the US. 2 adults and 1 child, it was all we needed. There’s a mall close by, just cabbed over there to eat and walk around.

We had a bad experience in Madrid Airport, and missed our connecting fight. With no other options, we needed a place close by to stay overnight. This hotel was close, affordable, and provided a very nice place to have a break until we could resume our travel the next day. The staff we met at the desk was very friendly and helpful! It was a little dated, but comfortable. Otherwise, we were very pleased with everything.

The location, lots of places to eat and quick access to the airport. Room was tiny, very dated. The bedspread was ripped and clearly quite old. The AC unit was VERY noisy making a restful sleep difficult. Lack of electrical outlets.

The hotel was charming, somewhat old-fashioned but everything looked nice and the room was clean. Reception was very friendly. For a 1-night stay coming off the plane, it was just what I needed. Nice and quiet. Safe wasn't working, battery likely dead. Thankfully, I didn't need it.

Needs air conditioning fixed. It was hot and AC did not work. Staff gave us a fan- good staff.

No WiFi inside the rooms

Well kept property very close to the airport and two blocks away from restaurants.

The hotel is clean, a short walk from Barajas station, and the check-in staff are friendly. The air-conditioning is welcome on the top floor, for hot summer days. There are no amenities of any kind - no kettle, coffee machine. The shower on the 4th floor is weak. The mattress is nicely firm but still squeaky. No view. The price is ridiculous for what is offered - I would pay no more than 60 euros for this place; in summers the prices are crazy.

The hotel is in a good location with respect to the Madrid airport. It’s walkable if you’re up for it. The area around the hotel is also convenient, with restaurants, grocery stores, and a nice park all in walking distance. The hotel was comfortable enough. The WiFi is not reliable in the least, certainly not in the room/floor (1st floor) we were in. This is a huge shortcoming in the year 2026 when everyone expects it and needs it (we had to do a business call in the lobby area because it was the only place we could get WiFi). When we inquired about the problem, the first person insisted it was working (it was in the lobby) and the second person said something like it was not guaranteed except in the lobby. This fact alone is a deal-breaker. The hair dryer also didn’t work, but at that point we were just ready to move on. The hotel is showing its age but we’re not picky and it wasn’t a big problem for us. The problem was the lack of WiFi, which is unacceptable. This is not an inexpensive hotel for what it is, so it’s quite surprising this issue hasn’t been addressed.

Stayed overnight because close to airport. Excellent restaurant a couple of blocks from hotel.

Location was great! Very friendly staff. Quiet and comfortable!

If you need to stay close to the Madrid airport and I mean at least 10 min in car o metro this is the spot

Window view and neighborhood in Madrid were delightful.

Dirty old looking bedcovers, carpets worn through. General decay.

Upon entering our room we found a Leaky vent with a pail under it. No warning or explanation provided. The quality of the room did not justify the cost. Also it was not actually near the airport.

The location was excellent. Close to a supermarket, restaurants and bus stop. Friendly staff, comfortable beds. It is old. The air conditioning was just ok.

Worked well for one night stay.
