Wishing Well Maratea

The outdoor is gorgeous! Very nice place to let the kids have fun outside without worrying. Weel located to explore thesurroundings, given you are moving by car... A fee is requested for linens and towels, which is the only time I ever see that. Who travels with bedsheets/linens? Weather was in part accountable for that, but the place was rather cold and humid so be aware of that if you travel in early or late season. Having a few more blankets in the closet might save a night! BBQ place was not obvious nor equipped; tools, grill, paper, and so on would be welcome.

The host was a bit strange. He was quite pushy about wanting to spend time with us. We just wanted to spend time with each other and he kept inserting himself into our trip. A friend of mine and I were trying to go on a walk and he invited himself to also come. We tried to hint that we didn’t want him to come along and it was very uncomfortable especially because we are 2 young women and he was an older man and it was getting dark.

Privacy, views, local recommendations.

Whilst the isolation presented some issues getting in the location is epic. Given the time of year we had the joint to ourselves with mostly just the noise of farm animals and birds to hear. Probably half a dozen to eight 'apartments' on the site. The place was spacious and had a great outdoor area with wonderful views. The kitchen was fine if you wanted to self cater. Although the washing machine was a bit jammed in the corner it did the job - note minimum 3 hr cycle. Bathroom and bedrooms were spacious. All in all quite well appointed comfortable and quiet. Price for the offering was very good. The person who was meant to meet us didn't turn up. WhatsApp contact with host didn't really cut it in terms of finding how to get into this quite isolated place. Got there in the end. For some reason the fridge had been turned off with a small switch in the freezer such as I have never seen. The owner said he was not aware of that. Was expecting a cold beer after our first outing and not to be. There was also some confusion about the cost which was eventually sorted. It wasn't a rip off attempt or anything so all good. I missed the requirement to bring your own towels and linen so had to get the owner to provide at a reasonable cost. There were some tense moments but it was all good in the end. There is no internet which I knew but it proved a real problem when trying to communicate when we had a couple of issues. Despite these issues please note my rating of 9. Consult with tourist office about road to Calabria in the south to see if landslide road closure has been resolved. The alternative route is worth the effort but is windey and long.

Everything was great! We in love with Maratea and with this accomodation. Owner was wery helpfull and view is wery beautyfull. We recomended WishingWell! Everything was perfect

The scenery was beautiful with mountains surrounding us on three sides and the ocean in front of us. Owner was lovely and extremely accommodating Ironing board but no iron. However, i have no doubt had i asked for one this would have been delivered.
