We have a toddler so it’s tough to find places that have adult things to do and also welcome children. The hotel is very family friendly as it has a nice pool area and right next door (connected by a sky bridge) is a movie theater, arcade, and bowling alley. We were also able to walk around the casino floor with our daughter in her stroller (as long as we didn’t stop at the machines) without security bothering us. In other casinos, we’ve had security come up to us just as we are walking in the front doors to tell us where we can and cannot go with our child - we do have common sense, so it’s annoying when that’s what you’re greeted with. At Ak-Chin it was very welcoming and no one bothered us about our toddler. We will definitely be coming back!

If you are traveling with kids, having the Theater/Bowling/Arcade just a walkway away is very convenient, but the directions to that walkway are terrible & you wouldn't even know that that the Entertainment Center was there unless you previewed the area beforehand. I think it should be a priority in marketing, in your resort description & upon check-in. The casino seemed liked it had a good amount of slot machines, with newer releases available. There wasn't too many tables, but sufficient. The low ceilings makes the casino floor smaller than it is and a little cramped. Having self-service beverage stations that have coffee/soda would have been really nice, especially since there were very few hostesses walking about. The only bad thing we experienced was unfortunately the very first thing every guest encounters upon entering - the smell. Since it is a smoking casino, the smoke has completely been absorbed into the carpeting and upholstery. As soon as we walked into the entrance, the smell is the first thing we noticed. The low ceilings doesn't help. Replacing the carpet & separating smoking/non-smoking areas would make a better entrance.

The staff was absolutely wonderful…super helpful and friendly. Bed was comfortable, room was clean. It’s nice to have the entertain center attached with family friendly activities like bowling, arcade games, laser tag, and a movie theater.
