Carla and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Location is perfect and the rooms are quiet despite being centrally located. The breakfast was delicious, which was an added bonus.

I visited Matera for the first time with my family of 13. The hotel staff, especially Karla, was wonderful! Karla reached out a week before our stay to help arrange restaurant reservations, outings and even a photographer for family photos. She also arranged local transportation to and from the hotel. We were well cared for and miss this magical place already. The rooms were spacious, beautiful and clean. WiFi and the TV worked well and breakfast was plentiful! It was a truly wonderful experience for all!

Beautiful room made within natural sassi. Bathroom was completely open - no wall, no door. Extremely uncomfortable.

Very unique place. The rooms are what probably used to be caves at some point, but nicely arranged and well-equipped inside. Small place and managed well. Very special breakfast. There are no windows, but that's to be expected in a cave dwelling. The view from outside the room is very nice. Parking is located some distance away (about 15 minutes each direction), and you'll need to pay for both parking and transportation to and from the property. We had some initial difficulty locating the parking area. If you're visiting by car for several days, this arrangement may become inconvenient. The room is quite pricy but overall it was a pleasant experience.

I did like the place pretty much. Location was perfect, very comfy. The breakfast was so unreal, fantastic. Carla in front desk super helpful, Alessandra for breakfast very kind and courteous. The only issue we found, it was the shower, we stayed in the small room, the water come out from the shower but we managed using it and it didn’t bother us after all.

Who knew sleeping in a cave could be so luxurious!! The room was beyond cool - the walls made of limestone with gorgeous linens on the bed and a floating tub that beckoned a deep soak! Breakfast was over the top with multiple courses of fresh food. Wish we could have stayed longer - it was comfortable and beautiful!
-
The breakfast was delicious - almost too much food! Location is Sassi was excellent, cave room was fun! and all staff recommended restaurants were excellent. Staff had limited English so some conversations were challenging, but we managed. As it was end of tourist season when we were there, the facilities needed some repairs but understood that they needed to wait until end to make them.
