Our staying Alla dimora di Chiara was a fantastic experience all the way around! Luca, our host, welcomed us with enthusiasm and politeness. He also suggested and set up the guided tour that my daughter and I enjoyed for two hours while wandering for the breathtaking Sassi in Matera. Then, on the morning of our departure, the host prepared and served us a delicious breakfast which we enjoyed from the balcony of his dining room, while taking in the surreal panoramic view of this unique place. I definitely recommend Alla dimora di Chiara to anyone wishing to enjoy the beautiful Matera!

The room was spacious, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable—an ideal place to relax after exploring the city. The location deserves special mention. Situated right at the edge of the historic center, it offers the perfect balance of convenience and charm. In a city like Matera, where navigating steep streets and stairs with luggage can be challenging, being able to reach the property without a long walk or carrying suitcases through the Sassi was a huge advantage. We highly recommend staying here and would happily return on our next visit to Matera. Thank you, Orsolina and Luca, for making our anniversary trip even more special.

We loved the size of the room and the bed was very comfortable.

The staff were AMAZING!! The women who welcomed us ( i feel bad for forgetting her name) gave us a history class while walking us to the suite and checked us in. They meet you at the plaza, so you don’t have to be crazy looking for the place, this is 10/10 service.. they also recommendede Luigi chiffi +393332685173 for transport from the station, they’re the best. They don’t overcharge like others. They were already waiting for us when we arrived, and also took us back when we left. The cave experience is amazing. The place is about a block frim the top so you don’t have to walk many steps or streets. Urselita from the morning was very nice too, we couldn’t find a breakfast place it was all cafes with pastries, so when we went back she filled our hearts with her warm attitude, made us delicious capuchinos, allowed us to have breakfast with a view. She was amazing. Overall a great experience. Stay here, you’ll thank me not having to walk with your luggage for block up and down cobblestones and stairs. The jacuzzi was not fully clean, but you can just check that as you arrive and have them clean it. We realized past 10 pm and didn’t want to bother anyone. It was the only thing. Everything was great

Very Nice Good for couple and family

The host was very friendly and helpful. The location was amazing, inside the sassi area but also just off the main piazas full of restaurants and cafes. The apartment was very unique, like living in a luxury cave, both traditional and modern, having also our own spot in the garden with a nice table set. We wish we could have stayed more days.

Perhaps the most stunning room in all of Matera, overlooking the valley and old city in a historic palazzo. We felt like royalty in the regal setting and could not believe our good fortune to have the privilege to spend a night here. Nothing. Everything was perfect.

The host was amazing! Highly recommend the experience.

Blow Dryer did not work

Front door did not work properly. No light in showered. Door fell off hinges. Not treated well by hosts. Refrigerator was not working.

Enjoyed the location which was excellent! Spacey room with nice patio. We were texted every morning to come out for breakfast, kind of odd. It was very simple, food wise. Check out wasn’t communicated well, they decided it would need to 10am morning of!

Lovely suite with a large bedroom, bathroom and sitting room. Nice terrace with a view of the old city so we had wine out there to look at the city at night. Clean and comfortable. Fantastic. I had confirmed with them that i could check in early before 3p, but when I got there I had to wait till 3pm anyway. Chalked it up to misunderstanding.

The breakfast was supplied by Lucca: authentic focaccia and an excellent cappuccino. The location was very central and just steps from both the old town as well as all the action and shopping.
