The pub is located in a beautiful historic building where you can really feel the atmosphere of times gone by. Our room was excellent — it felt like stepping back in time, but with all the modern comforts you need today. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful, giving us great suggestions on how to make the most of our visit to the area. From here, we visited the Roman Therme Baths in Bath, Stonehenge, and many wonderful villages, including the spectacular Lacock. A great place to stay for exploring this beautiful part of England.

It has so much charm and the decor is beautiful. Lovely location. The breakfast was lovely with real food and not the typical processed buffet I didn’t like the stairs going up to our attic room. This is just personal preference as they were almost vertical.

Comfortable bedroom, very friendly manager on the front desk. Nice selection for the morning breakfast. Went to the restaurant for dinner, it was fine but the food wasn’t particularly impressive.

Breakfast was ok. Food wasn't particularly good, I had to complain about my evening meal, the beds are hard, pillows too soft. Seemed there were only a couple of staff doing everything. For the price of the room they need to do a lot better.

Love the old style and theme Our room was quiet warm (being summer) as we were above the kitchen.
