Le Balcon des Jasses

Really perfect place to stay.

The hosts were delightful and go the extra mile (or indeed, extremely kindly drive the extra kilometres to you if - like me - you cycle off without your wallet!) The rooms comfortable. The dinner and breakfast copious and delicious. Like many older properties, it lacks good sound insulation, recommend guests who are sensitive to noise bring earplugs.

We had a very enjoyable stay with Leif and Lucy. The accommodation is first class and they are both very friendly and welcoming. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by Lucy and the breakfast the following morning was one of the best we have ever had. I would thoroughly recommend staying at Le Balcon des Jasses. Hope to return one day. All was great.

Leaf and Lucy could not have been more charming and helpful. The accommodation could have been a little simpler and less cluttered.

What a wonderful hotel! Late at night we received a very warm welcome, the breakfast was exceptionally good and we much enjoyed our stay here after a long day of traveling back from Spain. -

Exceptional, truly exceptional. As frequent users of B&B’s and hotels throughout Europe Le Balcon des Jasses in Espere must be one of the very best, if not THE BEST, that we have ever experienced. From the first ‘Hello’ to the last ‘Goodbye’ the service and attention to details was outstanding. Leif and Lucy are fantastic hosts. Everything possible was done to make my wife and I as comfortable and relaxed as possible. The evening meal and the following breakfast were incredible, Lucy is an amazing cook. The room was comfortable, clean and very inviting with little details seldom seen in other B&B’s. Worth every penny. We will definitely return.

Hosts couldn’t possibly have been kinder and more considerate. I was greeted at the gate and once settled offered a glass (or two) of excellent wine. There was a small terraced area right outside my room which was comfortable and charming. Since it is somewhat out of the way, having dinner there as a great option- with a choice between a light meal or gourmand. Since I had the light meal, I can’t imagine what the gourmand meal was like. Outstanding value - and the best meal I had during my trip. The room was extremely comfortable with an excellent bathroom - many amenities provided. Breakfast ! How wonderful! Fresh, warm homemade croissants, along with a spread only a photograph will show. And all that for one person! Liev and Lydia are the consummate hosts making the stay more like visiting friends than a b and b.

This was the best booking of our trip. Our hosts, Lief and Lucy went out of their way to make us feel like we were part of their family and shared their knowledge of the area and all of its attractions. The petit dejeuner was more like a banquet of home made breads, jams and fruit grown in their garden, absolutely amazing. Nothing at all.

We were thrilled with Liev's effusive and warm welcome. It set the tone for our stay. Other reviewers have mentioned highlights like the yummy breakfast! We would add Liev's generosity such as the endless Nespresso and the welcome BOTTLE of wine the first night. Therefore, we misunderstood that wine (29 €) was not included with the prix-fixe dinner. We were also disappointed with the smaller room, which, along with the bathroom needed airing out. Liev has been doing this for 22 years- do not forget to take advantage of his local tips!

Excellent host. Could not do enough for us - anything, anytime. Dinner and breakfast were exceptional. Comfortable room.

The breakfast was super: choices, freshness, variety, quantity, and the hostess made sure there were homemade gluten free options available. The air conditioning---it was not a real air conditioned room, though with the fan, and shades and being able to draw in the cool night air, it was doable.

Everything was great about the stay the rooms, the food, and especially the hosts!
