B&B Il Galleone

The location was very convenient, with the clock tower and restaurants very nearby.

My one regret is that we only had one night in this lovely B&B. Our family began our trip along the northern coast of Sicily in Messina, staying at Il Galleone for one night. Antonella and her staff were very welcoming and accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed, including great dinner recommendations. We had two rooms, both beautifully decorated and appointed. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen area had everything we needed for a quick morning tea and espresso. If you are looking for a place with warmth and charm, Il Galleone will not disappoint.

Il galleone is excellent. Great location. Well presented. Quiet. Great snack options in the kitchen. I was so impressed with what I had to choose from. Thank you. From the initial booking until the morning of check out I was so pleased with the level of contact that I had from the hosts at Il galleone. It made the experience even better that I could have expected. I would definitely stay again when visiting Messina. My only minor comment is that the bed was far too soft for me. That’s just a personal preference and I know that you can’t please everyone when it comes to mattresses.

Very clean and super friendly in multiple languages

Apartment is very tastefully decorated and rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Located 1 minute from Duomo and other main sites. A few packaged foods for breakfast if you choose. Host is very prompt with communication.

Cold and damp. The room had a musty smell that was noticeable upon entering. Marble floors were beautiful but, again, cold and damp that did not change even with the heat from the mini-split heat pump.

Location is fantastic. People are very nice. A few stairs but not many. not really a first floor. Very clean. Arranged taxi very well for our departure. We had to call when we arrived to get instructions for the lock box. It took about 5 minutes to get through. We would have preferred to have a text with the lockbox instructions but they seem to have had problems with people not knowing how to work those in the past. Perhaps could ask the guest, ahead of time, if they would be happy with the lock box instructions in a text message rather calling. We are kind of used to using lock boxes!

Lovely accommodation. Very helpful and diligent hosts. Excellent breakfast. Would highly recommend.

Good for overnight stay. Close to sights, restaurants and train station. Rosario provided a nice light breakfast and also helped out when taxi failed to show up
