Great staff! However, our cards almost never worked, we always had to go to the front desk to calibrate our cards.

Absolutely do not recommend staying at this hotel. Out of all the staff members, Isa, was the most helpful and polite. I was unable to get an adequate amount of sleep due to construction on the roof of the hotel right above my room from 6 AM to 5 PM, which we were not notified about prior. After bringing it up to the staff, all they offered us was an hour late check out. I have never heard banging so loud in my life. I asked one of the staff members about utensils to eat with and with a very smug attitude he said he could only offer us six knives. I have genuinely never had a worse experience at a hotel. Every time I left my room and came back I would have to get a new room key because they would randomly deactivate and not work, which was very annoying and tedious. I don’t usually write reviews for places, but I have to let people know not to come here. I asked for a manager and no one showed up. I would like a full refund of the money I spent to stay there because it was not worth it whatsoever.

The sheets in my room had "boot/shoe" marks on both beds. I went down to the front desk and I must admit the sheets were changed rather quickly. The sheets in my friends' room across the hall were stained and had to be changed 3 times. There were also black smudges on the pillow cases. They were told that the sheets were clean but had stains. I fail to understand how a hotel can consider sheets with stains on them to be clean? The third room that we reserved had mold in the shower stall. The temperature in South Beach at the time was 90+ degrees outside. The ice maker in the hotel wasn't working and it seemed that it hadn't been working for over a week. We were told to ask the restaurant in the lobby for ice. The restaurant did not want to give us any ice, claiming they didn't have any. They finally gave us 3 cups of ice and that was it for the 2 nights we were there. When we asked the front desk for ice the following day, they suggested we go to the 7/11 store a couple of blocks away, as they were hesitant to ask the restaurant. I would NOT recommend the South Beach Whitelaw hotel.

This place is good for price and location. However, the sheets were stained, the doors on the rooms are broke, staff walked into our room and said they didn’t know it was rented. We felt extremely unsafe! Staff kept knocking on the door. As two women traveling, this place felt super sketchy. The front receptionist tried her best to fix the situation but the hotel itself is the problem. One couple got off the elevator and realized that the door to their room was wide open because it was broke.

I found the hotel to be nice for what it is. It's an older building so I didn't expect too much but I would have liked for there to be a coffee maker and microwave in the room also would have been a more comfortable stay if they had AC the guests were able to control and cable tv. Also no continental breakfast or even coffee In the morning. The only problem that I had about the cleanliness of the surrounding area of the hotel was there's a lot of cigarette butts to the right of the hotel i recommend getting a ash tray for people to dispose of their cigarette butts

I booked 4 room for the night before our cruise. It’s on ok hotel, not a that clean and smelled horrible. Some irons will work some won’t some bathrooms will have a trash can some won’t. Then after checkout I started getting charges for unknown reasons. 10 and 15 dollars more then the amount should have been.

Decent place for the price. Great location. Staff wasn’t always available which was a bit of an inconvenience when checking out but over all had a great experience. Would book again.

On Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until approximately 1:00 p.m., the hotel allowed loud construction work to take place directly outside my window. The noise was relentless, drilling, hammering, and construction equipment, making it impossible to sleep, work, or simply relax. I paid for a hotel room to rest, not to spend half the day in what felt like a construction site. What’s even more disappointing is how the hotel handled the situation. When I brought it up at checkout, the front desk’s entire response was, “I’m sorry. Is there anything else you need?” There was no genuine concern, no explanation, no acknowledgment that my stay had been significantly impacted, and absolutely no attempt to make things right. If a hotel knows construction will seriously affect its guests, the bare minimum is to disclose it before booking or check-in, or avoid assigning those rooms altogether. Failing to do so feels misleading. Ignoring the issue afterward with a scripted apology shows a complete lack of respect for paying guests. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience deserves one. Between the excessive construction noise and the indifferent customer service, I cannot recommend staying here. There are plenty of hotels that value their guests enough to be honest about major disruptions and take responsibility when they fall short.
