The tv didn't work, the microwave didn't work and the bathtub wouldn't drain. When I addressed to front desk. Staff came to room at 1130 pm and let me know that I was able to check out. Bc they had no other rooms available and they couldn't fix the problems.

    Run down

The staff was excellent! The hotel is due to go under a renovation starting soon and the staff is dealing with an older hotel that has seen better days. The hotel is located in a great location and has much potential. I would recommend staying here, but not until after the renovation. Complementary breakfast was adequate, dining room was nice. Mardi Gras Park is just down the street and Dauphin street It’s just a few blocks away.

THE HOTEL DID NOT HONOR THE RESERVATION MADE THROUGH ORBITZ. WHEN MY SON (THE LISTED GUEST ON THE RESERVATION) ARRIVED AT THE PROPERTY PAST 10PM ON HIS WAY BACK FROM COLLEGE IN DAYTONA BEACH TO HOME IN HOUSTON, HE WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOT A ROOM AVAILABLE FOR HIM ALTHOUGH THEY COULD CONFIRM THAT THERE WAS A RESERVATION. THIS IS NOT JUST RIDICULOUS, BUT THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE.

    Disappointing

Whatever you do don’t stay here- the pictures are a lie. They renovated this property years ago and that’s what these pictures are. The room smelled terrible, we always check for bed bugs and it looked like they had some, mold on the box spring and mattress, blood on the wall, the room next to us the door had been kicked in and it wasn’t even attached to the frame anymore, and it had some lay by the hours walking around. DO NOT under any circumstances stay here. We left within 5 minutes of checking in

This had to be the worst places we have ever stayed as far as the upkeep of the hotel. There was no upkeep. The staff, however, was very nice. It was basically a derelict building with signs stating it was going to be rezoned. The doors didn’t work properly, we got locked out of our room twice. The second time it took nearly two hours to get back in and we had to change the time of our dinner reservations. They changed us to a larger “suite” which was not any better than the original room, with plumbing fixtures coming loose, a toilet that looked like it would overflow every time it got flushed, paint falling off the ceiling, elevators that didn’t work nearby and the worst…a big roach crawling on the floor, that won’t ever be crawling again. Wife couldn’t sleep for fear of another roach crawling on her. Slept with lights on. The place would have been a nice historical hotel if it had been kept up from the get go, but somewhere along the way, someone decided there didn’t need to be any upkeep. The place now is to the point that it would be better to knock it down and start over. I would not recommend staying here at all. It was nasty and smelly. I am surprised no one has reported them to either the BBB or health department. They so nicely respond with a generic cut and paste comment about how they are going to use people’s remarks to help give better quality service when you leave a review, but it doesn’t seem to help. again, the staff was the only good thing.

Don't ever book this hotel. The room is full of dust and smelling bad.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

    Dirty. Smells like menthol

Only one elevator was working, the air conditioning was lacking. Broken furniture in the room. Mirror was not attached to the wall. Did not seem like a safe environment, we went to our room locked the door and got up in the morning and left.

Upon my arrival at 6:00 pm the front desk attendant was having a very aggressive and loud argument with a guest. The guest stated that someone from the staff entered his room with a card key (unannounced) thinking he was gone, then ran out when he appeared from the restroom. He was demanding to know why, and the attendant kept repeating..”I don’t know, it ain’t that serious”. He stated there was no valid reason, also demanding a refund and management. We paid double to book last minute at another facility but it was worth every moment of peace knowing we were safe. Never booking with facilities under 4 star ratings again.

I wouldn't keep my farm animals there. I walked into the room, turned around, got in the car and left.
