Room was not clean at all. Hair all over the shower and sink area.

A cute little motel in Monterey, we got the family room for our family of 5 and it was HUGE - very and spacious. In-room coffee but also a great coffee machine in the main office/lobby with all kinds of fun options like cappuccino. Parking lot is small though we always found a spot. Lovely .5 mile walk to downtown with tons of dining options (including cafes for breakfast). Only negative was the pool hours - it actually closes before their "quiet hours" and wasn't conducive to swimming or lounging in the hot tub after a late dinner.

I was hesitant to stay at the Stargazer because I usually stay at Hyatt or Marriott. For a motel it was wonderful. We had everything we needed with the charm of a time period motel. The kids really enjoyed the indoor pool. We had a room on the 2nd floor. It had a partial ocean view! The staff was kind. We also had a handicap room on the lower level. That room had everything it needed, but it was dim. It was nice to have additional parking towards the back of the property. I'd stay there again. It was about 12 min from Carmel, 7 min to Cannery Row and 5 min to the Wharf.

We were told we needed to comeback at 3:30 to check into our rooms, not 3:00. Luckily we were able to use a bathroom.

I will preface by saying I never leave negative reviews, but I chose this property based on reviews and was disappointed in my experience. My room did not seem clean. There were dark hairs everywhere, especially the bathroom. A wash cloth was clearly dirty. Visible finger wipes in a reddish brown color were on it. At least it was on top ,so I noticed before I used it. My shampoo and body wash were empty. When I asked them to refill, they responded immediately and said they woul but never did. The TV also was fussy about staying cpnnected with playing and app or live tv. On the positive side, I liked the code room entries and location.

Very clean and seemed like newly renovated rooms. Very minor, but I noticed the tp holder was torn from the wall but reporting it to the front desk was seamless. I appreciate the social area outside with cute string lights.

i liked the pool even though it was extremely run down and not tidied. Dirty towels lying everywhere. It wasnt close enough to walk into town but still in ok location. Check in and check out was easy. The minute you enter the car park you are starring straight at dirty full bins. Very bad welcome. There was no kettle in our room so no facility to make tea. In some areas it was dirty. Pool was one of these areas.Dirty towels and lots of hair floating in pool water. Parking was tricky as it is first come first served, no guarantees.

2 star hotel, but family rooms are fresh, big and beds are comfortable. Parking in front of room. Friendly personnel. Swimming pool was a nice bonus for the kids. Good value for money. 25 min walk to downtown. Nothing

They remodeled recently and it was very cute and clean. The pool is wonderful!! The beds were too hard and uncomfortable.

The pool is awesome

Clean room. It just sucked we were there during construction. But overall not terrible

Easy check in/out. There’s enough parking spaces. We enjoyed the indoor pool with jacuzzi. The staff were nice. Near to Denny’s, CVS, Whole Foods, etc. It was loud on our last night. We heard people talking outside and I think dragging chairs from the 2nd floor. I wish people will be more thoughtful and respectful to other guests. Good thing, we brought our white noise machine. Otherwise, it was a good stay.

Close to where I needed to be Very hard check in after 8 pm. Better if someone is there in front of you helping out after 36 hour journey. Coffee machine did not work, second one almost fused the lights Very soft bed

Parking and that’s it 1. Reception dirty on arrival, staff on the phone, no clue how to handle both incoming guests and a call. 2. Rooms are basic boxes, no soundproofing, no quality of fixtures or fittings. You hear everything! Left, right and up if your on a lower floor. 3. Our room was just ‘refurbished’ yea right… painted up rubbish rooms with the same old interior underneath. 4. Beds are all Polyester! Nasty hot fabrics…. Beds very small… I’m 6.1 and the wife 5.7 and it’s way too small for us. 5. Fish smell. Yes …. Fish. Our second room I had to use one night because we just couldn’t sleep in the one bed anymore. At 2am I discovered that the left side of my new bed was smelling of off fish. …. It was very bad on close contact. Something must have happened with a previous guest and the cleaners just made a new sheet and pillow on it…. Omg was so bad. 6. Cost. You totally ripped us off for the car week. 7. Dogs I the night and morning. Our room backed onto a carpark. We had baking dogs ( many ) in the late evenings past 10pm and at 7am this morning. Staff did nothing… that’s because there are no staff. 8. Not close to town. Good solid walk. 9. Carpark is open at night. We had several cars spin around and hang out with engines running at 3am. Again no staff on site manage. 10. For the cost your better off sleeping in your car or on the street. It’s a similar experience.
