Vento di Rose is a large house, divided into beautifully appointed separate apartments and located on a peaceful and picturesque hillside just beneath the small town of Monterubbiano. It has a lovely garden all around it with numerous different areas set aside with chairs where visitors can sit and enjoy the marvellous views across the countryside to other hills and villages. There is also a plunge pool/jacuzzi though we didn't ask to use this. The breakfasts were quite exceptional! Emanuela is a trained caterer and alongside every possible normal breakfast option one might expect, her freshly cooked savouries using local cheeses, meats and vegetables and lovely cakes were an absolute delight. We were never offered anything so delicious in the 3 other places we stayed on our trip. There were very generous portions of everything and it was clear that this charming couple intended to feed us for the whole day with special containers to take with us for picnic lunches and space in a dining kitchen with fridge to keep left-overs, should we want to come back there for dinner in the evening - which we did. Another exceptional feature of Vento di Rose is the very fine selections of maps, guides and other interesting books about the Marché region available for all visitors to use in the small indoor dining area. We very much enjoyed looking at these and found them far more useful than anything we found elsewhere on our trip. Our hosts, Emidio and Emanuela could not have been more welcoming, generous and full of local tips for where to go, (like a best local beach,) and what to see. Their attention to detail in making the rooms and garden pleasant for visitors was evident at every turn. We would thoroughly recommend Vento di Rose as an excellent, peaceful place to stay, just inland from the busy coast but still within easy reach of the sea and where you will be exceptionally well looked after. There was nothing we didn't like about Vento di Rosa - but visitors should be aware that it is in a fairly isolated location and some way up a narrow and in places rough 'strada bianca' above the main road. On first arrival we found the drive up quite a challenge but were lucky to have been given very careful detailed directions by our good hosts and wisely warned not to follow satnav instructions!
