Hoshi no Terrace Motobu Yamazato

The staff were so kind and helpful. Thank you very much for helping me with my flat tire. I really appreciate it. All the extras were great and the view ia unbeatable. If you are considering ocean view vs forest, this hotel makes you feel like you are in the first unlike ocean hotel which dont have direct beach access. Loved the restaurant accross the way. So beautiful and good.

The hotel is beautiful, the people are friendly and the food was great. Our room had multiple baths, toilets and terraces. We enjoyed having the Shabu-Shabu dinner at the hotel. The staff was helpful and worked with us even though we spoke very little Japanese. The hotel has a fire and free drinks each night, with a path to walk around the property. The cherry blossoms were in bloom and the breakfasts were great! Couldn't ask for a better stay. Great honeymoon spot. We would recommend to all! The roads getting up to the terrace are narrow and winding. Take it slow and you should be good.

A really great small hotel hidden in the countryside near Churaumi aquarium, with very friendly staff, in-room Jacuzzi and free drinks, for a reasonable price. There’s a barbecue outside to grill some skewers or marshmallows, a rooftop to enjoy a glass of wine or watch the stars. Th property itself isn’t new, but it’s been refurbished lately and is very well maintained. It’s not a minus but you have to have a car or otherwise you’ll be too far from everything.

For ones with plan to visit the Churaumi Aquarium, this could be a nice choice; plus, as it is named, when the sky is clear, you can have a very nice star gazing experience since the hotel is on the top of the mountain and surrounded by no artificial lights but just mountains. The room is big and the bathtub is big too, given that you are in Japan. Breakfast is well prepared and you can always help yourself at the 24h snack and drink table. I saw many guests were families or friends driving to the hotel. Since it is in Motobu, not the urban area, and on the top of a mountain, if you are not with a car, then you would bet for a good luck, because Uber is not always working here. If you cannot find a taxi, you will need to walk up all way long to the hotel. It took me 30 minutes to walk from the bus station to the hotel, in the night, which could be somewhat spooky. I hope there could be a pick-up service.

Too many good things to say about this gem of a find of a 3 star hotel. Swings, fire place, free cocktail bar and soft drinks and marshmallow for bbq 3-9pm… even massage chairs in the lounge. The whole place requires you to change out into their slippers. Very homey. Room was huge - two toilets, two bathrooms, one large sofa and two huge beds! Wonderful nature views. Very convenient Location to food and attractions.

It is a small hotel, so there weren't too many people. The view around the hotel is awesome . It is a really great place for relaxation. The hotel is really clean as you will have to remove your shoes in the lobby. Communication is not responsive.I was not able to reserve their dinner after emailing them twice to no valid. Thus, it resulted in us not being able to have dinner that night as their dinner required a day in advance in booking. There were no other alternatives near the hotel. Thankfully, the staff managed to locate a dining place for us that night, which required us to drive downhill. The route was really dark and narrow to navigate, so do be careful.

We arrived to the hotel with 2 confirmed rooms, but the manager told us they had overbooked rooms and offered us to move one of the rooms to the adjoining building. This was the worst room I have ever seen. Totally different from the pictures. They really did not offer any choices, said it was their mistake for overbooking rooms and offered us one nice room and one awful one.. take it or leave it.. so we had to go find a new place to stay. Terrible experience.

Beautiful location and surroundings. Huge room, free upgrade. Free drinks including alcohol. Facilities were exceptional, we had 2 hot tubs in our room! Breakfast wasn't to our taste, but offered a good selection for everyone. Property felt a little dated in terms of decor.

The scale of the facility is just right to enjoy and relax the beautiful landscape and the stars at night. Food was excellent and the staff were cordial and welcoming. Check out time can be later.

Beautiful rooms with gorgeous views, friendly and attentive staff, fantastic breakfast and dinner, and amazing hot tub(s). The drive up the mountain to the property. It is quite remote, but that’s part of what makes this location so unique.

Amazing location tucked in the Motobu mountainside. Our room was very spacious with high ceilings & an excellent balcony for us to take in the view of the mountain ridge line. The hot tub was great for a morning bath. We enjoyed ringing the bell when we arrived and left :) Thank you to the friendly staff for taking pictures when we checked out. Note: you have to make reservations ahead of time get on the list for the restaurant & breakfast.

Clean and Quiet facility with gorgeous view. Food required reservations but there are all you can drink bar (with small restrictions) and it really is nice. I am a fan! Only thing I regret is I only stayed 1 night! Next time I'll do at least 2 nights if not more.

Overall atmosphere, environment, and service quality is outstanding. The massage bathtub is perfect. The way to the hotel is a bit bumpy, though not impact overall experience

Exceptional

Staff and service was exceptional, view was great, breakfast was great. It’s nice escape from typical city. It was in the middle of nowhere. And to get to hotel by foot it’s needed to go up a hill for half hour, which is hard with baggage. Renting a car was basically a necessity. It could have and should have said in description these things. Also the description mentioned beaches with distances close to hotel but both are further (by google maps)

Cosy place surrounded by greenery, and on a clear night you can see the stars.They went extra with a complimentary bottle of bubbles for my husband's birthday.

hot bathtub is the best. they even adjust water to be softer too.
