Hotel an der Oper

This is a family owned and managed hotel from the grandmother who bought the hotel to the daughter and the grandson now. You can tell that they put their heart and soul into the hotel with every little detail throughout the property and it was done with good taste and elegance. The staff is warm and very helpful. The location is the best for shopping, restaurant, to old town and the opera house. I always enjoyed my stay there. None

Unique, comfortable, stylish and excellent location! There was a water issue happening at the hotel during my stay but interruption was minimal and communication was good!

My trip this time was to see Jonas Kaufmann singing Calaf in Turandot. Hotel an der Oper's location is the best. Besides, some of the details the owners put into the room sets them apart from their competitors, such as the beautiful white orchid in the room, the small chandeliers by the bedside. The decor was simple, elegant and stylish. I stayed there in 2015 when I came to see Jonas Kaufmann and Anja Harteros singing La Forza del Destino. I remembered Karin Durr, she worked behind the counter graciously. This time, it was Karin and her son. Family-owned business is definitely different from any chain hotels. They put their heart and soul into the business and the guests can tell the difference. I wish there were more hotels operate like theirs wherever I travel. Some of the other guests I met at the hotel told me the same thing how they like the hotel. None

The location was perfect for exploring the area. everything was easily accessible by foot. Under the Hotel description it showed parking so we assumed that there was parking at the Hotel - which was not the case. The parking was at a nearby parking garage, which was a 5-10 minute walk to the hotel, the fee for overnight parking was an additional 40 Euro's which was on top of the room charge.

The bathroom was a bit small but manageable. At least it was in the room .

The location is great.

Breakfast was sensational. Magnificent selection as well as magnificent staff. We were a family group of 15 comprising Opa and Oma, children and partners and also grandchildren. Every morning, we had breakfast together as a family on four long tables joined together in the middle of the restaurant. Very well done. We were able to plan our days activity and enjoy Munich. The location of the hotel is very good, close to Marianplats, the Viktuallenmarkt as well as the legendary Hofbrauhaus. .

Restaurant closes early at night plus two days closed

No counter space in the bathroom. Not enough drawer space in the room. Not enough space to open out suitcases in the room. It was necessary to leave half of my clothing still packed in the suitcase because of not enough accessible storage space.

Location Room was ok, but certainly not worth what we paid. Staff was good but not great and there was no coffee or coffee maker in the room. Old tv with no streaming capabilities

Great location and a good value. There was no ability to have a coffee in the morning. There was a breakfast available, but it was €23. There was coffee nearby, but it would be nice to have it on the property. Also, after the first bottle of water, you had to buy your water which I found inconvenient also.
