Hotel Unicorn

Great location in Gondo close to the temple and the electric railway, shopping and food. Room was large and bathroom great. Even a couch to sit on! Bed was too hard for me.

The vibe of the room was immaculate The washer/dryer machine ran for four hours.

The cleanliness and location of this hotel were perfect! The lack of breakfast may be an issue for some but there are plenty of places close by to get food. There was also a kettle, fridge and microwave to use.

Being a former love hotel, the rooms and their bathrooms are bigger than you get in a business hotel. There are nearby parking lots for ¥1000 per day. The hotel is very quiet for sleeping. Easy checkin and checkout. There is an elevator which is a bonus for a three floor building. Great for luggage. We had two rooms on the third floor. Close to Zenki-ji temple and a small department store, supermarket, restaurants and acovered shopping street are just a few minutes walk away. The reverse cycle air conditioner struggled to keep both the big bathroom and the bedroom warm so we opted to keep the bathroom door shut and not heat the bathroom. In warmer seasons, this would not be an issue. OT was still fine for having a bath after washing. I recommend staying at Hotel Unicorn when in Nagano.

Very kind hotel owner who is very helpfull. We liked the spacious room with a big bathroom. There is an option to do your laundry and use the dryer, 2,5 hours later you can wear your freshly washed clothes again. There are also sufficient ammenties on the second floor, with a hot water dispender. Also the location is great, it's a 15 minute walk from Nagano station. And a few minutes walk from the Gondo subway station.

Close to the center, cheap, clean and room was okay. The bathroom was very difficult to use, always very damp.

Close to gondo station, bed was comfortable and warm, large space and good value for money for a last minute trip to nagano. Seems a bit sketch, the bathroom was really cold. Very limited interaction with staff, seems like no one is around. Also baggage storage is in a totally accessible part of the building where the public could easily come and take it (if it weren’t for the fact Japan is a safe I would not have left my bags there)

The staff is very friendly, the location is near to a meteo station and a bus stop.

1/ location, gondo IS rapidly accessible from center Nagano, you have all you want near the hotel. The area IS safe even late AT night. Zenkoji is at short walk. 2/ hotel: small, intimate, cozy, the japanese room WE had was certainly one of the best rooms i had in my 50+ trips (and 3 Time in japan). It looks and feels authentic, large, comfy, awesome. 3/ Price: you won't find this Price with same quality. You don't need more to be happy, believe me. 4/ communication: the manager was very reactive by messages and by phone. We stored ou luggage before checkin and After check out. Nothing. Just Book this hotel. Try to get the japanese room.

This little hotel was amazing to stay at. Not only was the manager/owner very hospitable, but all the facilities were amazing too. The bed was large, the bathroom was spacious, it was very close to Nagano station and lots of great cafes and restaurants. Would come back and stay here again! Everything was perfect!
