Everything. This town was hit by a big earthquake a few years ago and they’re still recovering. I felt a little guilty seeing the other hotels that are still closed. I want to support them as much as I can. Nothing.

The place feels fresh after recent renovations. We had never experienced an Onsen, and in fact didn’t realise we were booking an all inclusive holiday at an Onsen hotel. But it was a cultural immersion experience like no other. We lived a tiny slice of an integral part of Japanese culture that Westerners don’t usually experience, and we felt both welcomed and privileged. It was brilliant.

I was kinda disappointed on the room accomodation. It was quite old and smell of old tatami..

Staff made an excellent effort regarding Covid-19 precautions. The restaurant had gloves for everyone, and there was a reservation system for the baths to help with social distancing. The room sea view was lovely. Many activities for young kids, such as games and a swimming pool. The food was average: lots of quantity, but lacked quality. The windows in the room were filthy outside, especially the the balcony, due to the sea and wind, but require maintenance as they are looking shabby.
