Seagrass Oceanfront Inn

The sink was really intense, the water pressure was crazy! Room and property could definitely use some updating, but beautiful ocean view and excellent location on Nye Beach.

My room was clean, comfortable and ocean view.

Great place to stay in Newport with incredible views of the shoreline. WiFi and cellular reception was bad in the room; in the parking lot. I think the bluff it’s built on shields cellular and WiFi signals.

The view was amazing, but the property is definitely dated and a little run down.

It was fairly clean. The location was good, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

The pictures did not match the website. The room was musty, there was dog hair, cob webs, and visible rust multiple places in the room. The bed was hard, and sunken in. The room was booked as a date night getaway, had I known the condition of the room before booking, we would have passed on reserving it. Our room was located on the first floor, it had a rusty wall unit heater, and no air conditioning. There was a window with a small opening that could not be left open due to there being no curtain for privacy.

1. It smelled old and of mildew 2. The bathtub faucet dripped constantly and was chipped and stained. 3. The furniture was literally broken 4. The curtain rails were rusted and hard to operate 5. The front door was rusted 6. The Wifi was terrible 7. The curtains were threadbare and appeared moth-eaten 8. One bed seemed new and comfortable while the other was old and saggy. 9. The TV was an old CRT style that took up the whole dresser top! I can't help but laugh at that one. I advise you wait a year until they get their "renovations" done or run the risk of being stuck in the "old" part of the hotel. My goodness. One star.

Oceanview, clean room and helpful staff. No internet connection during our stay. They will give you the password but you have to ask where to connect.

Superb staff on a property that could use some TLC. The room itself was clean enough, and the bedding and towels definitely so. The lav spigot was difficult to operate and the furniture and furnishings were a bit beat up. And sadly, no actual cups or glasses, but only toss-‘em provided. On the outside the door was dirty and there were traces of moss running along the gutter. But . . . 90 steps down to the beach! That and the staff made it worth the $$ for me.

Very outdated. Pool disgusting, but not in use. However, area wasn't roped off or hidden. Seemed over-priced for what you get.

The thing I like most about oceanfront sleeping is listening to the waves all night. I was positioned on the first floor, so all I had was a very small window that opens, that didn’t let me hear the waves. And the room got very hot without any air conditioning. The room was a little run down and old. The new owners may be planning some upgrades, but nothing has been done yet.

Staff was unhelpful and rude. Had to wait almost thirty minutes just to check in. Poor condition of room and amenities. Lots of noise from upstairs. Only good thing about this hotel is the location.

If I could have gotten my money back I would have slept in my car.

Simple but very nice. Clean and a great view!

25$ an hour for a late checkout which is absurd. I’ve never had to pay to get a late checkout. Take your money and go to the waves by OYO down the street for cheaper. Way better. Won’t be coming back to this place.

Amazing view and friendly staff.

I try not to be picky but this wasn’t the nicest place. The room had a smell, deodorizer maybe. The furniture was pretty banged up. Both beds were visibly saggy and we both woke up with sore backs. The beach access was difficult to find. We wandered the entire property trying to find it and the hotel had a lot of garbage piled up, especially around the A building. It was smelly and there was a unhoused appearing person going through the garbage while we were walking back to our room which didn’t feel safe. We will not stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Seagrass Oceanfront Inn. The ocean views are spectacular and were definitely the highlight of our visit. The location is beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for enjoying the coast. The inn was comfortable and welcoming, the rooms were clean and good size. and we appreciated being able to relax while taking in the scenery. We had a great stay and would happily return.

The Property was just purchased by a new owner. They were happy to tell us that remodeling was to be done this winter and some of the things that had been in disrepair under prior ownership would be back to their full glory in the spring. My family and I loved this property as the Shilo and love it now!

Left a day early because the room smelt so bad. Smelled like cat pee, they tried to cover it with heavy fragrance which made it worse. Windows that open towards the ocean but no screens on the windows. Lights outside room are so bright it looks like daylight in room while trying to sleep. Very outdated furniture, beds are hard. No hot water in bathroom due to a handle issue, maintenance guy was nice about but didn’t want to fix until the next day. Tells me house keeping didn’t use hot water to clean the shower. This is a very old shilo inn that they are trying to rebrand, don’t fall for it like I did. Spend your money elsewhere.
