Francis Malbone House Inn

We enjoyed a restful stay at the Francis Malbone house this past weekend! It was great to be in the heart of Newport, close to so many restaurants and shops. But once we entered, the peace and quiet we experienced was lovely and we forgot we were so close to everything else. Breakfast was amazing and having some delicious snacks at afternoon tea was also a nice treat. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this spot and hope to visit again another time!

Such a wonderful place to stay, highly recommend if you’re visiting the Newport area. The staff is so kind and attentive and the property is so charming. The breakfasts and afternoon teas are also phenomenal!

This is our second time there. I Wouldn't stay anywhere else. I love everything about the place.

Exceptional

We attempted to shorten our stay from 5 nights to two and the ow er refused So we left and were charged!!! They suggested moving us to 3 different rooms 2 different rooms each night on the 1st floor and the. Back upstairs? Made no sense.!!! They would have had plenty of time to rerent the room ?

We absolutely loved this historical house and property. Zero complaints about anything or anyone. Was excellent in every way including the location. Highly recommend staying here.

Without a doubt, we will be returning to the Francis Malbone Inn. A true gem. Location was perfect - an easy walk to the harbor and shopping or into town. Did I mention free and ample parking? Friendly and helpful staff!, the rooms were comfortable and immaculate. Amenities - the breakfast each morning was amazing. Coffee came out early followed by baked goods. Then a full breakfast with 2 choices was served at 8am. The lovely Sue sure made sure our breakfasts were memorable! Although they had a large dining room, we chose to eat outside in the garden. It was a popular location. In the afternoon, they serve a tea with savory and sweet treats. We really appreciated the rain umbrellas they included in the room (we needed to use it sadly). We had a room located off of the garden. It was quiet and peaceful.

Charming bed and breakfast

The room was too small, especially the bathroom. The floors are really squeaky so you could hear when the adjacent room was walking around anytime of day or night. Thin walls too so you hear others talking, etc. Great staff!, but I would not stay there again. It is definitely overrated.

This is a gem of a boutique hotel. Clean as can be, beautifully decorated, terrific and sizable rooms, a great breakfast indoors or in a garden, wonderful afternoon tea, close to all of the downtown sites but quiet as can be, on-site parking an a truly terrific staff. We loved our stay here.

Excellent home. Lovely sitting rooms. Courtyard with afternoon tea and breakfast. Great bed, linens, room. Will return. Right in heart of sailing and shipping. Service incredible.
