A haven of peace and tranquility, this traditional English country house is in a unique rural setting, surrounded by beautiful gardens and a 60 acre lake, yet only 12 miles from historic Chester. Set within a grand Victorian mansion, the hotel features 28 bedrooms and 8 suites, most of which enjoy spectacular views of the lakes and gardens. All rooms are beautifully furnished and individually designed, many with antique furnishings, Persian rugs and lots of extra touches to give that home-away-from-home feeling. The area plays host to a wide variety of activities, from shopping and sightseeing in nearby Chester, to motor racing at the nearby Oulton Park Racing Circuit, or country pursuits such as clay pigeon and laser shooting, archery and golf. For the more adventurous, hot air ballooning and off-road racing are also available nearby.

Fantastic Team - Alex on reception was exceptional. Beautiful decor and extremely clean Good selection on menus and well sticked bar We didnt pay for a premium room, it was a last minute decision. Rooms on the 3rd floor in the loft space do get extremely warm.

Loved the location of it, the breakfast was great and the bed was really comfy. Wish we had more time to explore the grounds - outdated rooms, the deluxe suite was huge but not actually a lot going on there, LOADS of chairs and just a bed basically - no aircon at all - the shower in our room was in desperate need of a reseal - the warning to not open the windows wasn’t on the side of the welcome letter with all the information, didn’t realise until it was to late and mosquitos had infested our room.
