Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk

The rooms are very dated, but appeared to be clean until I almost fell getting in the shower because it needed to be cleaned. Daily housekeeping was minimal at best…I couldn’t even get more kcups after the first day. Then on my last the ceiling was leaking right next to the bed. Maintenance came and knew exactly what was wrong….there were poorly patched spots all of the ceiling from where it must have leaked before.

I have no idea how this hotel was rated as well as it was. I was not expecting anything fancy, but it felt way below a place I would ever consider staying had I known better. Trash all over the parking lot. The front desk area was messy, with piles of food for sale and cleaning products strewn about. The front desk staff was questionable - I was questioning if they were staff or not based on how they were presenting. No warm greeting, nothing helpful, and nothing professional. One out of two elevators was out of order, and the working elevator was filthy. My room was clean, and had a window and working air conditioner, so I will give it that. I was in my room 5 minutes when 2 cop cars pulled up to the front of the hotel, where they were dealing with who knows what for a hour or so - not a great feeling. At midnight, I was woken up by weed fumes coming from the neighboring room, which was coming through the vent in the bathroom. Zero sound proofing, you can hear everyone is every ajoining room. Upon check out, the desk clerk was unfriendly and said 2 words in response to my question. I would never stay here again! Steer clear. I am now questioning hotel.com's reviews, as this is the second hotel in the past year I have stayed at that was terrible when the reviews suggested decent.

Bar tender didn't know anything about making drinks. Refigerator made loud buzzing sound, had to turn off to sleep. My wife left a new top in the room, front desk said nothing there, someone obviously took it.

Nice size rooms and parking was good. Pool and spa closed for repairs the entire stay. Elevator kept breaking down.

the breakfast was good. the selection was very good We had a difficult drive and was happy to hear that restaurant would be open when we got back to hotel after a wake. Appeared that air conditioner wasn't working. We sat down and a menu when brought over but server disappeared. we waited over 10 minutes and no one appeared to take our order. We had to go out to find a restaurant which we didn't want to do.

Great location, clean and easy check in

Air conditioning in lobby was not functioning; lounging in the lobby and eating area was not comfortable. The air in the room was fine. Check in staff was competent and efficient, but pretty cold. Parking was tight. Not quite "Hilton" standards overall.

Location, comfortable bed, decent breakfast but not always warm enough. weeds in front. ice machine on second floor when my room was on 1st floor. ice machine did provide adequate supply of ice. broken elevator car. broken HVAC. in dining area. entire Hotel is tired and needs a complete refresh.

Our biggest issue was that the entire property including our room reeked of mildew and must. My allergies were raging during the entire stay.
