A&O seem to be great hostels. This was my 2nd and it was even better than the first. The location is great right by the train station and an easy walk to start seeing the sights of Nurnberg. Overall I was very impressed with everything here. nothing

Super Clean rooms , just near the main train station (hbf) . Easy to access and get into .

I arrived in the middle of May during the 28-31 degree heatwave, this was catastrophical - the room turned into an oven --- the windows would not open and only tilt, i asked for a key to fully open the window but the refused to give one, their solution was a 10 euro fan which did not -- i had several sleepless nights because of this. Lost sleep and health is worth a lot. I would not recommend this hotel to an enemy during may-september period

Because I arrived at the hostel, checked in, and then went out to the city. When I returned in the evening, I found someone else sleeping in my bed. The person asked me, 'Who are you? The three of us booked this room.' I replied, 'How is that possible? I have checked in, and I have my room and bed numbers right here: Room 307, Bed number 3.' The guy then said, 'Oh, no problem. I'll move and sleep on the top bunk. You can sleep in this used bed.' I told him, 'Let’s go down to the reception and clarify this.'We went to the reception, and the staff member checked the system and explained to him that booking three spots does not mean occupying the entire room, and then gave him fresh bedding. We went back upstairs. Once we got upstairs, the guy asked me, 'Did you have a backpack?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'I gave it to the reception.' I asked, 'Why did you do that?' He replied, 'I thought someone had forgotten it.' I went back to the reception, got my backpack, and returned to the room. What is interesting to me is why they weren't told their specific bed numbers. Or if they were, why weren't they informed that there was a fourth person in the room? Fine, leaving them aside—when that guy took the bag to the reception, why didn't the reception staff tell him that there was another guest in the room and that the bag could belong to them? Most importantly, my night was completely ruined. I couldn't sleep at all. The money I paid was a total waste. It would have been a thousand times better if I had just sat at the train station (Bahnhof) until morning."

Location, comfortable beds It was very hot. There’s no air conditioning (they stated that there was not air-conditioning so that was not unexpected) and our room was right on a road that is high traffic at night. It is very loud, very difficult to sleep here but it’s not the other guests It’s the road traffic. you had to have the windows open to stay cool but that allowed more noise to come in. They were very nice and gave us a fan to use. I also didn’t enjoy their automated check-in process or their automated laundry process. It’s just not my thing I’d rather deal with people. The people who did work there were super nice. It was clean. The beds were comfortable. It was very easy to get around and navigate. Another thing- the water it was either cold or way too hot. There was no way to regulate the temperature when you took a shower. It wasn’t really a big deal, but if you had small children it would not be a good thing. We were able to get a family suite, the kids enjoyed the bunk beds. It was the perfect amount of space for us. My husband “for what it is it’s good, it has potential”.

Our 4 bed room was overbooked so we got split up and ended up in separate rooms with random people. Absolute no go. If you travel in a group and want to stay together, not recommended.

  • Engine customer May 2026

The Staff and Location was the best. Cleanliness they should work on it. And there was dust in room.

  • Engine customer May 2026

Top stay! Strategic location, comfortable beds, and a very professional team. Everything was smooth from check-in to check-out. I’ll definitely be back on my next visit.

  • Engine customer May 2026

The shower door couldn't be locked, so we had to be careful not to open the door when it's occupied. Other than that I'd say it was almost perfect

  • Engine customer May 2026

Location Bed #2 room 222 no electrical connection for USB or AC plug charge. Staff did not care did nothing to inspect for put in a work order. Staff not trained to understand A&O rewards program.

  • Engine customer May 2026

Excellent location The “kitchen” was hardly a kitchen. It was essentially a teeny tiny closet with a sink, microwave, and fridge. You could hardly move around it was so small. And it was poorly equipped with no forks, or knives and I only found a single spoon.

  • Engine customer May 2026

Close to hbf. NO hot shower, sink pipe leaks, water flooding floor, hard to lock bathroom door, loose faucets, stained toulet bowl. Suggest to women traveller, DO NOT get MIXED room. You will be only one mixed with all other 5 men drop in every hour after 12 and front desk will ignore your request. Rather go upper bed in Female only room.

  • Engine customer Apr 2026

The elevator is quite old and slow

  • Engine customer Apr 2026

Breakfast was good for the price

  • Engine customer Apr 2026

Rooms are very small and congested for a family of 5 and yet very expensive. Rooms should br nice and spacious like in A&O Berlin.

  • Engine customer Apr 2026

The cost was 20.50 but the same room in Stuttgart was 15 Euro.
