HOTEL POSADA DON MATIAS

The building was beautifully decorated. Super close to both major markers ( 20deNoviembre & Benito Juarez). Not nosy and at night time a bunch of food vendors pop up on the street right outside the door.

Staff were so kind and helpful. Location was perfect, could walk everywhere! Room was big and clean. The street was loud- but not the fault of the hotel, just a busy street- I advice ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper.

No breakfast provided. Would have been nice though Very dated. Over use of chemicals. Room smelled like an industrial facility and made me gag.

Fantastic location near markets, street food, zocalo, and more. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are large and comfortable. I especially enjoyed it because it’s a boutique hotel, with a unique local charm. Could use more comfortable pillows.

My main complaint was the front desk staff ignored you when coming in and leaving the hotel. They just sat there staring at their cell phones and would look up and greet you when you entered or left. This even happened when coming home late at night. They did not even look up from their cell phones to see you was entering the building. There was one girl who was friendly at the desk but not the rest. The others would only look up and speak if you spoke to them. The management should speak to them about front desk etiquette and courtesy. The bed was very firm. I am not a fan of a very firm bed. Some people prefer it.

Loved the location, super close to historic center and all the amazing food stands and markets No water pressure. The shower was awful

The location is fantastic. The noise from the courtyard is a lot.

Great location. Charming environment. Daily maid service. Drinking water dispenser was not always working. A bath mat/floor towel would be great for departing shower safely.

Location is great, near the market, Zocalo and other central places. The facilities are old, problems with hot water.

Didnt like that at 6 in the morning Staff is moving stuff around on the hallways As if there was no guests staying on premises Cant ask for a while lot , it justifies for the price !!

Visited during Día de los Muertos. The location is excellent — just a few blocks from the Zócalo and right next to two large markets with great food and local products. The room was spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My front-facing room (17) was quite noisy due to traffic and a nearby nightclub. The streetlight and car headlights made it bright at night — blackout curtains and earplugs would help a lot. The TV’s speaker seemed damaged, and the hot water was only available for short periods in the morning and evening.

Great location in the city centre and close to a famous food market. Super nice staff. Clean room. No hairdryer. The room’s window faced a shared balcony facing an internal courtyard, therefore we didn’t really have much light and we felt uncomfortable opening it because other guests would have to walk past to go to their bedrooms. The bed was ok but maybe a bit small for two people. We’re really good with noise, but it got quite loud at times, you might want to consider that if you have light sleep.
