I liked the location, the sea view (from some of the rooms) and the beautifully decorated house. I enjoyed the delicious scones offered upon arrival (between 4 and 6pm) and the fantastic breakfast (although it is debited from your card as soon as you order it, even if weeks in advance). Beds are comfortable and it is nice to be able to park inside the property which is full of charming details. Booking doesn't mention that if you check-in after 8 pm, you have to pay a penalty. Breakfast is served from 9 to 10 am only, which is a bit late if you want to visit the islands. Apparently, you may order it earlier but we were not told about this possibility when we checked in. More flexibility would make Ardtorna even more welcoming. We paid for an upgrade to a beautiful suite overlooking the lake (see photos) with a private terrace. The view was really stunning but the two large (fixed) windows were hit by the sun all afternoon and, without air conditioning, the only way to lower the temperature (even with all curtains drawn) was to leave the door to the terrace open (no mosquito net on that door, unfortunately, and no other window in that room). All in all, it was rather uncomfortable during those two very hot days. I assume it is lovely in winter but the suite, although absolutely clean, beautiful and comfortable, was not the best choice - for us- on those warm days. With climate change, management should contemplate air conditioning + mosquito nets.

Location was good with a lovely view - near Oban and some nice restaurants. Room and bed were comfortable. Karen did everything to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Easy and safe parking. Everything was fine. Just a note to book local restaurants in advance as they tend to get fully booked.

This place is like none other you will stay at. The detail in the place is unparalleled. There was nothing unlikable except location

The location was great, far from the cities and in a very quiet place. The views were excellent from the bedroom - we had the bedroom with the forest view. The coffee machine in the bedroom was also good.

The breakfast was very good - lots of great options. Had a nice view of surroundings. Rooms were somewhat cramped in space. Host was not always willing to help with a direct response - "look it up in the book", or "read the instructions" (which I had done so, but they obviously weren't very clear)

Attention to detail and cleanliness is very high and the bed was incredibly comfortable Due to our circumstance we only really slept over night so didn’t get a chance to appreciate the full experience this hotel clearly offers

Owner was intense / over friendly. Didn't opt for breakfast. On arrival the room was cold. Decor although new and very clean was bare and impersonal, almost clinical. Reminded me of a hospital room. Underwhelmed with the bathroom and glad I had my own shampoo etc as what was offered is cheap. If you're used to luxury this isn't it. Glad it was only a short stay.

The facilities, high standards of cleanliness and presentation. The owner was also very nice and made us feel very welcome :) The location was in a quiet spot and was easy to find with plenty of parking We stayed in one of the budget rooms. The door to the room seemed to let in quite a bit of noise. It was easy to hear what was happening downstairs.

Everything was comfy and spotless The heat was unbearable even with a window open had to move fan beside bed, makes it very uncomfortable to sleep it’s very hot. Need to have some air con or something would not be able to sleep in that room again and loved the place.

Fabulous luxury b&b with optional breakfast and meal packages. Karen is a lovely host and will do her absolute best to give you everything you need for a memorable stay. We were fortunate that the location was in a dark skies area, and we had a clear night the milkyway was visible to see. In fact, I have never seen so many stars. Our room had a balcony with a view of the Loch, spa bath and a super comfy bed. I would definitely recommend a stay at Ardtorna Nothing we loved it
