Completely restored and refurbished, the Santa Caterina is set in the heart of the marvelous and unspoiled Palinuro, right on the main street and by la piazzetta, the central square where all social events in town take place. The area is also scattered with stores and boutiques. The rooms are provided with all comforts and each looks different from the other, thanks to the originality of the gentle and pleasantly colored Vietri ceramics. We stayed at Hotel Santa Catarina during the low season and had a pleasant overall experience. The hotel's biggest advantage is its central location, making it easy to explore Palinuro on foot. Since we visited during the off-season, many restaurants and businesses were closed, and the town was much quieter than it probably is during the summer months. However, the hotel's location still made it convenient to get around. Overall, Hotel Santa Catarina provided good value for the money and met our expectations for a short stay. While there wasn't anything that particularly stood out as exceptional, there was also nothing negative that affected our trip. If you're looking for a well-located hotel in Palinuro and a solid base from which to explore the area, this is a good option. The room was comfortable enough for our stay, although the bed was not the most comfortable we've experienced. Breakfast was fine and offered a decent start to the day, but it was fairly standard and nothing particularly memorable. The hotel spa appeared quite expensive, for what it offered. So we chose not to use it.

I loved this small, centrally located hotel. We had beautiful vintage tile in our room and a great view. There was a very reasonably priced spa on the top floor where we spent several hours soaking , overlooking the bay. The bed was also super comfortable.

The location is great and there is a really nice view from the restaurant terrace. Clean and good cleaning service.

Location was great! Beautiful view. Friendly staff

+ Staff during breakfast was very kind and forthcoming + Free parking (without surveillance) - Receptionist made some bad recommendations about restaurants and boat renters to visit. - After a bad time at a terrible restaurant, the receptionist didn’t take our feedback seriously and couldn’t take criticism (arguing, missing professionalism). - The hotel is structurally too old for a 4-star hotel and in dire need for renovations. - You hear a lot of noise from outside the room (e.g. cleaning staff, neighbors showering etc.) or from the air conditioning, which doesn’t help to get a good and comfortable night’s rest. - TV didn’t work: only one channel was available. - Cleaning quality plummeted after two days (bathroom and floors weren’t properly cleaned). - Our bed was uncomfortable, above all the pillows, which weren’t ergonomic. - The restaurant doesn’t have a proper Italian coffee machine: the coffee from the automatic machine contains too much water.

The location was great. Having breakfast with a beautiful sea view is very pleasant.

There were three positive aspects of this hotel: 1) professional, polite and helpful staff at the reception, 2) kind and helpful cleaning staff, 3) location in the main street with easy access and a beautiful view from the balkony This hotel's general standard is below the 4 stars it boasts of. Its golden era must have been a long time ago and its present condition is below 3-star hotels I have visited in Italy. Also, the gloomy, uncommunicative man in the breakfast room was a failure.

Location Room, food

Location You can hear people using the toilet in other rooms, so very annoying during the night. We had a dinner at the Hotel and it was terrible. A cup of rice 'pre-cooked' or cooked the day before for 18 euros. In every hotel I stayed the cot is always free, this hotel is charging 10euros a night, shameful.

All was perfect - especially the staff. And the location right in the middle of beautiful Palinurp. No kettle in the room

The staff was so nice and helpful — in the lobby, in the adjacent bar, and in the breakfast room. We had a nice terrace which felt private looking out onto the sea. The area was quiet. Hmm. Hard to find fault. There are some areas of trim that need painting and fixing up but these faults did not stand out.

Everything was perfect. Nothing more to add really. I can't speak of stuff I didn't like, because there wasn't anything I didn't like

Location, clean room, good breakfast, kind staff. The attitude of the personnel from the bar. Asking different prices for the same staff depending on their mood!!!!! I do not recommend this bar.
