Located a 5-minute walk from the Louver Museum and the Jardin des Tuileries, Normandy Le Chantier offers guests the opportunity to experience the transformation of its 19th century building during a two-year renovation project. The renovation is still during so it's not finished. Guests will enjoy their stay in newly renovated rooms which boast high-speed WiFi, a flat-screen TV and double-glazed windows. The renovated rooms also feature modern bathrooms with a walk-in shower and a hairdryer. Breakfast is available each morning, with room service being an option. The hotel has two restaurants, El Vecino inspired with authentic Mexican taqueria and Buckwheat, a traditional French crêperie. In the evening, guests can enjoy a drink in the hotel's speakeasy-style bar, Rehab. The hotel has several meeting rooms, including an elegant reception room with Napoleon III-style ceilings, Il Palazzo, towering nearly 23 feet above your head. Other services include an ironing room, and use of a microwave. Normandy Le Chantier is 787 feet from Palais Royal - Musée du Louver Metro Station, which provides direct access to Arc de Triomphe, Opéra Garnier and the Champs-Elysées Avenue.

The location was great but the hotel is still under works, the wall towards the hotel corridor is wood and every single noise is heard like it is next to you. We didn't try the breakfast or internet. The room decoration is interesting towards quarky. Good AC & bathroom Very thin walls and squeeky floors. Hotel still under renovation, very bad looking carpets on the hotel corridors, and it needs some care in reception and common areas

The location of the hotel could not be any better. Walking distance to a lot places, pleasant, central location. The bed was very comfortable and breakfast was superb in a beautiful room. The staff was very kind and helpful. There was a mold smell coming from the bathroom that remained in the room for a while. There are renovations going on in the hotel but there is no noise coming from these activities.

The location was fantastic, the rooms exceeded our expectations as they were quite big and roomy. Bathroom was modern and big also. Our balcony and views were beyond magnificent! The staff were always helpful and friendly.

This is a really hard hotel to review. I admire their desire to reach their 5th star and they’ve made the renovated rooms really modern and comfortable, with plenty of space. The bed is particularly comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. We were concerned after reading other reviews that we’d hear a lot of the construction from within the hotel, but we didn’t hear a thing, which was great. The air con also worked perfectly and kept the room cool throughout, but it is fairly centred on only one part of the room. The hotel is fantastically located, it could hardly be better. It’s got great history, stretching back to 1877, too. The majority of the staff were very kind and accommodating, particularly the gentleman with the ponytail, whose name we didn’t get to ask, who helped us install our Apple TV device and who facilitated another chair being delivered to our room, so we could relax there over such a long stay. We did, however, have some issues: on our first night there was no hot water in the whole building; on our second day there was about a 15-20 minute power cut. We also, on two separate nights, had (presumably) other guests who knocked on our door at midnight and 1am respectively, while we were sleeping, which has never happened in a hotel before. We stayed for 16 days and the cleaning team didn’t seem to hoover our room on 75% of their visits. They didn’t replace the water or glasses often either. Unfortunately, the pillows also smelt very, very bad, like months of more of accumulated sweat from previous guests, which is really quite unpleasant. It actually often didn’t look or feel like the pillows had been changed (photo below). The cleaning staff were also hard to find in the hotel (simply as it’s so large), so we often found ourselves with no hand soap and things like that, so we ended up buying our own from a supermarket. The Buckwheat Creperie offers very good value, but El Vecino is virtually impossible to get service from. We tried on three occasions and queued for 10 mins, including being the first in line and the staff just simply ignored us, doing other tasks instead of taking our order, so we left. The insulation in the windows is not very good, so we heard every argument, every car, every bin collection, every dog bark etc all night from Rue St. Honoré, which made sleep difficult at times. The first room we were shown also had a door that didn’t shut properly unless slammed. The staff were very accommodating in finding us another, though it took an hour before anyone arrived. We then waited another 75 or so minutes for anyone to bring our backs to us. The bathrooms downstairs are actually filthy, too. It’s really quite disgusting and not befitting a hotel seeking to be 5*.

Stylish, great location, good restaurants/bars in the hotel, friendly price. Price quite good for the area. Are can be a little noisy at night.
