Villa Montparnasse

We had two rooms. One room the shower did not drain, housekeeping turned the room but did not address the shower. Nothing was done when we raised the issue to the desk staff. The other room did not have electricity on one half. The receptionist came and looked at it and said he would have to call someone. The issue was not addressed before we checked out.

Location is very good, close to RER B and metro 4&6 The breakfast was good and fresh, and the breakfast room was always clean The elevator was out of service for most of my stay but the staff helped me with my luggage.

All rather tired - bathroom with dusty shelves, peeling paint and broken tiles. Not enough power plugs in the room. Broken lift.

Charming hotel in Montparnasse. The staff was really great and helpful. The room had nice amenities but it was short on outlets for chargers. It was further away from Gare Montparnasse and I took a taxi because of luggage.

All the important aspects were covered. Great bed with a clean bathroom, linens, and toiletries. Feature such as the mini bar, air conditioner, towel bar, and safe were all in working order. The view from the room was exceptional and the location can't be beat in Paris if you want a quiet neighborhood with minimal tourists ad access to the Paris Metro and the RER-B train to the airport. This stay would have been perfect if it wasn't for the two issues. The carpets on the 3rd and 5th floors were filthy and should be replaced. It was not an issue when we stayed a year ago, but now it takes away from a 4 star hotel experience. Next, the dining room is in the basement without windows with limited food selection for the cost being asked. Its not worth it, and its inconvenient to always have to ask the day before for gluten-free products. This Machefert property has so much potential and is up to the management pick up the ball. Fix the carpet, acquire the bar/restaurant at the corner and truly make it a 4 start destination, since the staff at the hotel is doing their part. Otherwise I would have rated our stay a 9 instead of a 6.

Villa Montparnasse is located three short blocks from Denfert-Rochereau, a major transportation (train and bus) hub with service to CDG airport and the Metro system. (There is also a taxi stand outside the station) The rooms are small but adequate for a short stay. Rue Dauguerre just a block away is a pedestrian mall with bistros, bars, boulangeries, cafes,markets, and a great vibe. Everything you could hope for in just a few city blocks. There is also a Friday Market in the park three blocks south of the hotel at Rue Brezin. The room could be cramped after a few days but the location was great.

Quiet No ac

The location is absolutely fantastic, easily reachable by metro lines 4 and 6. The airport bus used to stop right there, but unfortunately, that is no longer the case. However, the metro replacement bus, when line M14 is not in service, still stops there. The street is nice and quiet, with plenty of fantastic restaurants nearby. The Montparnasse Cemetery is just a few minutes away, where I was able to visit the graves of Poincaré and Alekhine. The staff is incredibly friendly—so much so that it’s almost hard to believe. The bed is comfortable; I usually have trouble sleeping in a new place, but here I had no problem at all. The bathroom looked great and was stocked with good shampoo, body wash, and lotion. I stayed there in two separate visits, as Paris was not my final destination. During the first stay, I couldn’t manage to turn on the lamp in the toilet without also turning on the main light in the room. Maybe I didn’t try hard enough, but it was a bit bothersome. The staff offered to change our room, but we declined since it was only a short stay.

The location is good, very near the RER station (5-minute walk). The old style of the hotel and room is original. The surroundings are beautiful and convenient with a lot of shops and restaurants. You can find anything you need within walking distance. In addition, the train station is 10 minute walk away, very convenient for travelling to other provinces. My room is a bit small but it is not a big deal as we only stay 1 night to catch the early train to Lourdes.

Clean, location, comfortable beds

Great location From our balcony we saw Eiffel Tower) The water was not as hot as I was used to. But as I know, in Paris it is a normal thing. Also would be a pleasure to drink good quality coffee, instead of instant Nescafé.
