Upon arrival I was assigned a room. The first room I was assigned to had a wet carpet floor. I had taken off my shoes and my socks immediately got wet. I called down to the front office and was changed to a different room. The new room was dry however the refrigerator cabinet door did not close all the way the bathroom was smaller than a closet and the television was very outdated and difficult to maneuver. It did not have any streaming availabilities whatsoever. The most frustrating part of my stay However was check out when I checked in I paid the full amount for my stay which was 3 days 4 nights and a deposit. The receptionist told me that there was an outstanding balance on my account I asked what was it about and he told me that I hadn't paid. I checked my credit card statement and showed him that I had paid in full plus a deposit he told me that that was just an authorization charge and that I would have to pay another amount which was the total of my entire stay. I tried to explain to him that that didn't make any sense and that I had never had to pay twice and wait for the pending amount to drop off. He told me I could not leave until I paid it. I was running late for my flight and I panicked. I had to hold my dad and tell him that I was going to call the police if he did not let me leave. He then backtracked and said he never said I couldn't leave. But when I tried to walk out he followed me out to my car.

The room was very clean and the daytime staff was great. The night clerk did not share important information regarding the restaurant having different hours than listed and that it wasn’t open at all other than during breakfast and we had to go to the bar to order dinner after our late arrival. Service there was lacking, with the bartender giving a big sigh and comment when I started looking at the “signature cocktail” menu. She didn’t want to wait tables and didn’t want to make drinks. Not sure why she worked there. All the vending machines on all the floors had been removed but the signs were still up. There was one sad machine adjacent to the lobby. Again, this was not communicated. I got the feeling this used to be a very nice property. It needs some shaping up from management.

However, I have noticed the area is getting dicey over the years. In the parking lot, I saw abandoned shoes. Of course, there is littering all over the place, and I doubt it’s coming from the guests. Also, there was vomit near my car. It’s a shame because this is a nice place, but the area makes us raise our eyebrows.

El personal muy amable todo muy lindo el área súper tranquila muchas cosas por hacer al rededor

Some level of renovations was taking place with debris collections scattered throughout. One of the 2 elevators didn’t work. My wife got stuck between floors on the other. Amenities were very sparse and some unusable. Front desk staff was quite indifferent and not very helpful.

On Day 2 I replied to the message sent asking how check-in was on Day 1 and got no response. On Day 3 (after the couldn't care less night staff & towel & water issue) I received another "hotel message" asking how my stay is going. I replied with my issues, again, no response. I contacted Expedia who said they would contact the Hotel and request (at the mercy of the Hotel) for partial compensation. That was 7 days ago and I have still not been contacted by Hotel or Expedia. Hotel was clean, safe area, complimentary coffee in lobby. Room cleaning every other day.

Very bad front desk attitude, booked ahead and after driving 14 hours front desk said we have no rooms for you ,kept checking in other guests

Location is convenient to explore the Princeton area and beyond, if you have a car. The swimming pool is a bit sad, given the location and space, an outdoor pool would be just fine.

Disappointing

I spent thousands of dollars and you refused to extend my stay leaving me compromised. Some of your staff are horrible.

It’s a beautiful property situated on well kept grounds far enough away from the highway so it’s quiet.

I took my daughter on our first solo trip. The hotel was easy driving to Staten Island ferry and Philadelphia, exactly what we were looking for. When we got to the hotel we were very surprised. She wanted to enjoy a day just at the hotel. Definitely will be back
